No I don't come on here much. I am not sure of the Republic, Chautauqua, Shuttle thing. And thank you for reminding me why I quit coming on here

The point was that if you can't do some basic research on your own, you will never pass an initial 121 training program. You will NOT be spoon fed!

And yes. You're welcome! Glad to have helped.

When is the vote? I was hired but won't be in training until I get out of the military? If the pay is so bad why aren't the captains leaving given the hiring by the legacy airlines? What are the odds you'll strike, the pilots voted to strike did they? Trying to get the pulse of the pilots before I step into the blood!

Vote is in 45 days give or take a few months.
Top 300 captains can not go anywhere else. Every other pilot on property will bail for any other job offer.
Chance of strike. 0.0%
Pilots did approve a strike vote about two years ago.

Umm, like the 300 pilots who have been hired by the majors in the last 5 years? Do you think that every regional pilot is there by choice?

Ok so the contract is voted down, what happens next? I understand you voted to strike but didn't...why vote to strike and not strike? How many FOs to Captains? It seems the FOs would want this contract and given the company made good money last year according to the earnings report wouldn't they like to keep the status quo? Just trying to figure out how this will fall out and if other regionals will be a better place to go?

Someday you'll get to fly Mitsubishi MRJs at Skywest... :D:laugh::cool:

I think a lot of that depends on where you want to live and obviously upgrade time. Republic would work if you get assigned the E170/75 and live on the East Coast. Skywest might work better on the West Coast or in ORD I believe. Aren't too many other regionals I would consider that would provide good upgrade times.

Just so you know, I left shortly after we voted to strike, 19 months ago. The strike vote had 98.9% participation with 99.25% voting to approve a strike. Those numbers are staggering! It worked out to ~25 people voting "no" to a strike. So, 19 months ago it was nearly unanimous, "F this, lets walk." Unfortunately the pilots don't get to make the decision. The NMB must release both parties to self-help. The pilots can walk and the company can lock the pilots out. The NMB is a political arm and as a regional flying for every major out there, they will likely NEVER be released to strike. The company knows this and is taking advantage of that by not bargaining in good faith.

The FO's don't want this contract, neither do the Captains. The FO's are topped out (most are) on the payscale which means no raises or COL adjustments. Each year their buying power decreases. Captains at least get to continue with longevity raises. Some captains won't leave because they are making 90k a year and they don't want to start over somewhere. They are "lifers" and that is their choice. Keep in mind, in 2013 the pilots are still operating under the 2003 contract which was negotiated when there were a handful of E145's on property and a bunch of Jetstreams. No regional out there was ever going to fly anything with more than 50 seats. It was a different freaking world back then. That contract became amendable in April 2007 and the pilots are no closer to a contract now, 6 years later, than they were back when negotiations opened.

Any other regional would be a better place to go.
