Germany and Japan have some of the strongest unions in the world. Obviously the produce superior products.
Study how the unions work in Germany, the German Dept of Labour can void a contract if it does not lead to productivity gains. The makes the Germans very good.
The UAW is anything but a source of productivity, with such former issues as being paid for not working in the jobs bank pools.
I wish I could reference it, but this came from my busienss law class when discussing contracts. That was over 30 years ago.You've claimed this before, and I'm calling BS. I can't find any evidence of this being in German labor law.
