It's true that RP Captain's are paid a reasonable wage. The problem is that the FO's are not. This is well and good when growth is fast and upgrades come quickly, but when the growth stops, half the pilot group is still getting screwed. Comair's current offer to it's pilots is pretty much RP's agreement minus a year and 90 days of seniority accrual. Not a bad deal for Captains, but it's a really bad deal for FOs, who aren't going to upgrade any time soon.
