not crj, 170s, this rumor was started by the guy that does the delivery flights from Brazil.

Apparently he was told something in Brazil, then the ad appeared in careerbuilder. He posted something, then withdrew it quickly, as mngt watches the board.
This is one of the smaller deals that mngt is working on, to put the "petting zoo" back to work.

exactly. he was "asked" to keep it quiet. since he speaks the language the locals down there feed him all kinds of tid bits.

It wasn't "pulled" b/c mgt watches "this board." This conversation is appearing on every flight crew board in the world...

Re: New Proposed S5 Base

Shuttle America has a potential opportunity for a new code share agreement with additional flying beginning on or before November 15, 2008. This bid is in anticipation of a possible code share agreement in Hawaii that will be announced within 10 days should it come together. It is necessary to complete the bidding time line prior to the posting of the November 2008 PBS bids and in anticipation of this opportunity being finalized. This crew base would open no later than November 15, 2008 in HNL (Honolulu, HI). Initially the trips are anticipated to be single day trips.

Travel benefits are unknown at this time but it should be anticipated that at least initially you will have limited travel privileges outside the inter-island flying. There will be a different uniform more aligned with Island attire.

HNL EMB 170 Shuttle America

The company is posting 22 Flight Attendant positions. Bids will be accepted until 1700 hours on the closing date. If interested, please update your vacancy bid in Flica. To correctly bid and to be considered for this position, please bid for HNL UHL CA in Flica under Vacancy.

Vacancies will be awarded in order of seniority using standing bids on file as of the date bidding is closed. Vacancies caused by filling this primary award will be awarded using the standing bids on file as of the date bidding is closed. Not all vacancies created by this bid award may be filled.

Please use Flica to bid. Bid closes 1700 hours on October 8, 2008.

In an effort to help answer concerns, here is some information on housing. These areas were identified as having reasonable housing in the HNL area.
East Shore: Central Oahu: North Honolulu (less likely, but possible):
Kaneohe Wahiawa (near Wheeler AAF) Pearl City
Kailua Waipahu

Apartment and Rental info for the area(s) is available on

re: HNL Base

It's legit. I don't know how our crews are going to afford to live out there but it would definitely be a great place to fly.

Nope, the Rev. has specifically state before that he will not go it alone, not like Go!, Expressjet, Shezungpow!, or ACA/Indy Air.

To say that this deal is a 'code share' borders on the abuse of the term. It is a wet leasing arrangement with a couple of airplanes to pick up the slack between HA and YV in effort to give go! the final 'push' and wrestle some market share from Hawaiian. The brand is Mokulele or some form of it.

Hawaiian is naturally concerned that another carrier will enter the market and capture some of Aloha's former revenue that they currently enjoy. To that end, they will vigorously defend their turf as they have done in the past. Hawaiian's got code shares with just about everyone (except DL if memory serves) and controls about 80 percent of the market.

In the past, start-up inter-island carriers have been undercapitalized with the wrong equipment. Mesa was adequately capitalized with the wrong aircraft. This time, the start up is undercapitalized with the right equipment. I don't think we are going to see the $19 fare wars this time, but the gloves are coming off for sure. Both Hawaiian and go! will defend their market share and I'd bet we are going to see a couple of lawsuits in the next 6 months.

Even if go! were to close, SA is going to need more than a couple of airplanes to justify operating in the inter-island environment and make any money. Are they really going to stock parts for 2 airplanes? Who are they going to partner with if they can't complete their flights for mx or other delays? If 1 airplane goes down for mx, will they will have to cancel 50 percent of their flights? And don't forget, visitor arrivals are forecast to be down again next year. Gotta love the airline business.

There will be 5 a/c.

Mokulele will be the partner - investment will be involved.

We already have Sabre operating (reservation system).

There will be blood!!

5 planes for 11 crews? Where are you going to put them?

There will be 4 in operation and one spare. As with most things, there is more to this than meets the eye - we don't know what the end game is, or even what the company is offering us.
One theory is that this will only last a year or two - just enough to drive Go! out of the market, or under (whichever comes first). If Mokulele can take on the aircraft themselves, then so be it - if they can't then BB will sell them or find somewhere else for them. The rewards for doing this are elsewhere.

Where do you get the idea that this is a partnership with Mokulele? Where has that ever been factually stated? Where do you get the idea that these planes will be leased and eventually handed over to Mokulele, as in the case of Midwest?

Seriously, there is so much schnit coming from people on this board that even I am amazed. Stop making stuff up, wait patiently for actual fact to come out, and in the meantime go do something other than confusing the issue.
