Anyone know what is going on with Republic's certification process?

The rumor in the IAD G crewroom was their application was denied again but nobody knew why. Is this just a rumor? Anyone have any details?

It's actually Republic AIRWAYS. I heard that they tried to get get certified by another FDSO outside of Indy and ended up making waves.

From what we're hearing, the RP Certificate is up and running, and there is one 170 assigned to it; but the RP TRAINING PROGRAM is back in the toilet. Also, I heard (did not see it) that the first 170 in DL colors has been delivered.

Isn't it the same as SA? I thought everyone went to the same place, and I'm a little confused over why SA of the 170's are on one ticket while REP are on another. When RM offered an interview she said it was for the SA side.

Oh man now I got a headache....

For what it's worth, these were the same sort of stupid rumors that were flying around the Freedom certificate . . . can't get approved, denied, FSDO shopping. . . . etc.

Right up until it was approved w/o a SINGLE delay. Hey, where there's a will (and lots of $$$), there's a way.

Overheard at a FSDO(not Indy), Rep Airways was denied the cert so Delta's 170 flying will be under the Shuttle cert...unconfirmed, but the people discussing it seemed to know what they were talking about for what it's worth.

That won't happen due to Delta Scope Clause Agreements with Republic Holdings. Which is, we can't fly anything with more than 70 seats. This would be fine if RAH intentions were not to purchase MDA. MDA's aircraft have 72 seats because they have coach class only. There is also word RAH may be flying E190's sometime next year.

Yesterday from a CHQ 170 training guy who will be Republic:

1. Manuals held up again at IND FSDO due to mistakes by our pubs people.

2. Bridge training program for 170 qualified current CHQ/S5 guys not approved, FSDO wants then to do the full course even though the short class/short sim has been approved for CHQ->S5 bridge.

3. Full training program is not yet approved. Again it's FSDO crap, this is the same program that has been approved and in use by CHQ and S5 since August of last year!!

Republic AIRLINES (Republic Airways is the parent of this whole mess) classes were set for 5-31 and 6-8. Both cancelled, guys sent back to the line at CHQ. We are now hearing 6-20 as the earliest.

There are NO DL painted 170's in country. A bunch are off the line in SJC and will be coming up shortly.

At this point CHQ is incurring $1M in monthly fines from our fine friends (partners they claim) at APA because we are operating 70 seat aircraft on the CHQ cert. There are currently 3 on S5 and 17 on RP, these 17 will be transitioned as fast as pilots can be trained. The lack of sim space for the PC session required in the bridge is the primary barrier right now. Hopefully this will all change soon..who knows..

Chicken Taco- thanks for the information.

I guess S5 is very lucky to not be controlled by the Indy FSDO.

I wonder how much longer of a delay Mr. Bedford will tolerate before he decides to put the DL 170's on the S5 certificate temporarily just so he can start flying them. If there are a few sitting in the jungle of Brazil, they are not making him any money yet. What is the scheduled date of revenue operations? Anyone know?

I guess all these problems with the IND FSDO is good news for the the HDQ employees of S5. They are concerned about RAH moving S5's HDQ to Indy. I bet they are not in any hurry to do that now with all these problems. Why would one FSDO approve a training program for a 121 carrier that another FSDO will not? Especially since all the training is being done by FlightSafety. I guess this just highlights the problems with C-SET.

No, Republic Airways is the holding company, Republic Airlines is the airline

There seems to be a little confusion of when the Delta Flying is supposed to start. I've heard July 1st and Aug 1st. Shuttle's HDQ will remain in FWA so that Indy FSDO doesn't have control over S5. S5's dispatchers will be controlling the S5 flight as well. They're currently being trained. I'm not sure why RAH is having such a hard time getting the certificate approved. The next E170 class which is on June 20th is supposed to be a Republic Class. My class was "suppose" to be a RP class, but we got a call 3 days prior and were told it would be a S5 class.

I know the S5 dispatchers are dispatching S5 flights.

I saw one of the S5 170's in IAD on Thursday. I felt like a little kid seeing a new toy he wanted for the first time. I wanted to go up and talk to the crew but thought that would be going a little far. I wonder if the gate planners in IAD see a flight operated by S5 and automatically throw them on the G gates.

I wonder if after this intergration process is over if I will be able to hold FA on the 170. Perhaps if I ever get a chance to look at one, I should pay special attention to the galley.

I know nothing about the parking. :)

Not really to much talk about then intergration process in class. I did hear the S5 is putting FA's thru class like there is not tomm. Last class went through had 100 people, trained by Flight Safety. Our INDOC instructor trained them. She even said they were young and "cute" for the most part. I wonder what Cute is?

The initial Republic DL flying is supposed to be CMH-SLC (last we heard anyway) and was scheduled for 7-1, hten 8-1. As of today it doesn't show up in the DL timetable at all, even checking into September..

Is that Jobear finally leaving there and coming here?

...are the rumors true? Nothing like bashing CHQ for years on this board and then getting hired...seriously, I kid, I kid...if that's true, welcome aboard! Remember, they do make you pay tolls in Illinois. More money for da mayor that way.

Good luck with everything, I guarantee you will be missed (!) at your old employer by many, many people.
