Assuming you mean a fixed-gear 172, definitely not. You probably could rent a Seminole for that kind of money. Last I checked in Denver, 172s were going for about $65/hour.duksrule said:Is $140 an hour for a Skyhawk reasonable wet?
That is about right. Instruction in Denver was going for about $35/hour.Also $40 an hour for instructor? I am in Va BEach Va if that matters.

If you're in the Norfolk/Newport News/Virginia Beach area, it's a logical question. If you are, there is a military flying club at Ft. Eustis. I can just about guarantee rates are lower there.
If you're not military, it sounds like you're beginning to shop around for a better deal. I know there's a school at PHF, but couldn't tell you anything of the rates. My father had a Citabria there for several years.
Good luck...fly safe!
