Dear HR Department,

Thank you for your letter of August 17th. After careful consideration I regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me employment with your company.

This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field of candidates it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.

Despite your company's outstanding qualifications and previous experience in rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at this time. Therefore I will initiate employment with your firm immediately following graduation. I look forward to seeing you then.

I was rejected by Continental Express twice, over a period of 18 months, in the late 90's.
I got the exact same rejection letter, twice. I felt fortunate that there was a specified format used for me specificaly.

I'm not sure if this letter was actually sent or not. It came in a newsletter from a recruiter organization I belong to that gets sent on a weekly basis.

I am curious to find out where it came from....

I talked to a check airman at TWA who was kidding with one of his students and said" You have got to be the worst pilot here! How did you ever get hired?"
He replied " I didn't. After my rejection letter came, I wrote back saying thank you very much, I will be glad to attend the class on such and such date."
He went on to have a great carear at TWA.

If you actually did write this letter...and they didn't respond to tell you "no thanks" again...would they legally be obligated to extend you employment if you showed up on such and such a date...
