Rejected after Airnet phone interview - now what?

I also have applied to Airnet with time quite similar to computerguy's. No word yet but I haven't updated my app. Computerguy, did you update often before the phone interview?

What's up with Planemesters? I haven't heard of them.

Hey comp.guy. I want add. Shake the rejection off man. I've been through it and it sucks but just like someone said earlier....it goes with the biz. It will most likely happen to us all at some point. It took me like 6 months to get over being rejected by ACC. It hurt my confidence and pissed me off. I had to buy my own plane ticket, suit, and cram it in during one of the busiest times of a banner tow season I was doing. I should have not shown up. I knew there was a sim. check but I didn't have a means of getting current or confident. I nailed the test, the interview went very well, but man did that sim fry me! He told me I was a "Classic case" and that "this is too bad because" the guy who interviewed me gave the sim check dude "a thumbs up for me." Talk about feeling crushed.

Yes, I updated my application about once a month for a very long time. I was applying to Airnet for over a year. A few days before the phone interview I had called one of their recruiters with a question regarding a personal situation I was facing - I wanted to know if given my situation I should hold off on updating for a few months (because I would not be able to attend training for a few months due to this situation), and they said I should keep my app updated anyway, that I wouldn't be passed up for a job due to this situation. Within two days of my calling them, they called me for a phone interview. I don't know if my reaching out to them had any impact or if it was just a coincidence though.

Don't feel too bad... many years ago while at FLX I applied to Airnet every month for 2 years. Never heard a peep. Finally got an interview and class date but a better job came along.

If you persist in the end it will work out for you. These career paths aren't always straight and or in the direction you think you're supposed to go but stick to want's important to you (quality of life, pay, family time, equipment, whatever works for you) and it will work out.

Don't stress over it brother. Relax, have a beer, have another beer, and then hop back in the airplane. My guess is that the phone interview didn't pan out because of total time since you only have 850. Once you finish up that block of flight time you got and reapply, you may get a completely different response. Just remember to be yourself and don't go overboard trying to impress the recruiters.

Since when did AirNet start hiring people with absolutely no sense of humor?? Geez people, we all know not to drink and fly, PD was making a funny. I got it, maybe because I knew his dry sense of humor.
I recommended a good friend for the job, he had right around 1000 hours when he applied. He didn't get the job. He waited his six months, reapplied and was hired. It showed Washka how bad he wanted the job, that he indeed did get the job. So continue to do what you're doing, instruct some more or whatever and reapply in 6 months. Good luck.
