You lighten up Gulfstream 200, its apparent your flying
corporate, and know nothing about 121 airlines. Providing information on the internet about airline procedures and or training is not public information!

Yeah Gulfstream 200. Providing info on training facilities could lead to a simulator being hijacked which could endanger all kinds of....well....simulated stuff!!

Im always ready for the hijacked sim......
always know where that safety ladder is in case I need to climb out at FL450......

but dont tell our training secrets, its NOT public information --- strictly Part 121 airline stuff.........

Comair: In house instructors at the FSI facility at CVG for the 50 seat. Montreal for the 70, but I think we're getting (or got) a 70 sim at CVG.

Darn it, Hovernut! You were supposed to keep that a secret. Never know who is sneaking around on these boards.

P.S.

The AirForce uses Flight Safety for C-5 stuff. SHHHHHH.....

Comair's training is actually "in-house". The sims were built by Flight Safety (for CMR) and they are housed in a FSI facility in CVG, but they belong (leased) to Comair. If the schedule is too much for our own sims, then sim time is purchased at whatever location is available. Sometimes as far away as Berlin.

As already pointed out, the -700 training takes place in Canada at the manufacturer's facility. When we have enough aircraft to warrant a dedicated sim, it will be in CVG. Keeping the training "at home" ensures control of standards and saves lots of travel/lodging money.

By contract, all sim instructors must be Comair seniority list pilots or retired Comair pilots (exceptions for a "new aircraft type" until our instructors are trained). Ground systems instructors do not have to be on the seniority list, but are Comair employees.

at expressjet we have 2 sims (and a 3rd being built) at our training facility in houston,,all instruction (indoc, ground, sim , etc) is done in house
