Which of the regionals carriers actually pay you during initial training?
Which ones pay for your hotel accomodations?

I've heard Mesa does neither. Are others the same way?

ExpressJet gives you a check for around $1500 during training. They also pay for your hotel. You share a dual occupancy room with a classmate. The down side is it's in the Holiday Inn.
:)

Piedmont pays a 72 hour guarantee, plus per diem. Single occupancy after the first week.

Mesa pays you from day one(albeit not much), but you are on your own for the hotel unless you live in PHX already. 70 hr guarantee for 1st year jet FO is around $1500/mo. Once you finish ground school they pick up the hotel for sim training.

ASA pays for single-occupancy hotel from day 1 in addition to the full guarantee. Flight and medical benefits begin after 30 days, albeit you can jumpseat before that with your company ID.

Horizon:

Employee from day 1, 28.52/hr with a 70hr/mo guarantee until after IOE. Then pays 75 hrs reserve or 80 hrs lineholder per month.

Double occupancy during ground school/single occupancy during sim. Management pays for your room.

psa training

PSA pays you 24 hour/day per diem plus guarantee. Hotel is paid for and you get your own room during training. This is as good as it gets as far as regionals go, the problem is though once training is over you will be on reserve and we have a terrible scheduling department. Reserves get treated like sh*t. You will be miserable if you are commuting to reserve with PSA.

AWAC is your own hotel and 2 1/2 hours per day (and that runs 7 days a week). Basically it adds up to you gettig the 75 hour guarantee (2.5*30=75).

You also get full pay and 75 hours guarantee from day one. This is one of the few good things in the ASA contract. Although full pay without per diem amounts to less than I was making on unemployment. The hotel is not great but does have free breakfast and there are microwaves and fridges in the rooms.

Cape Air
35 hour min @ 12.80/hour/week
Single occupancy hotel through IOE
Currently hiring 402 Capt for May class

Thx,
Capn sac

The BEST contract ever - what size hotel do you get all to yourself, and do they keep the staff on or just let them go if it's just you???? :D

I don't think you can call what they serve breakfast, unless they improved it (it used to be a box of bagels and donuts). Good if you like carbs I guess

Mesaba is 75 hours pay a month and single occupancy in a suite with a full kitchen. Not that it matters anymore.

From the American Eagle CBA (quite a stimulating read...)

A. PAY AND PER DIEM
A new hire pilot will be paid for a minimum of sixty-four (64) hours of pay per month, plus per diem for sixteen (16) hours daily until completion of Initial Operating Experience. In the event that a new hire pilot works less than a full month, the guarantee will be prorated accordingly.

B. LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION
The Company will provide, at no expense to the pilot, comfortable and adequate lodging through completion of initial training. At the Company’s discretion, new hire pilots may be housed two (2) per room during Basic Indoc and Ground School. After Basic Indoc and Ground School are completed, the Company will provide single occupancy rooms. The Company will also provide transportation between the lodging facility and the training facility.
