It takes over 200 CRJ's a year to equal the productivity of one Southwest 737 per month.

Well if it is in print on the net it must be true!

And it only takes a handful of "major" airline guys a moment to click and vote for outsourcing pilot jobs, career standards, working conditions, etc.
All in exchange for saving someone's pay/pension/position.

Looking for someone to blame for crj proliferation? Look at your own seniority list, and Mr. Mclain, and Dolloway....

I'll believe that when my $hit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
Believe it, you think that is a huge comparison but it really isn't. 200 CRJ's produce a much much larger cash flow than one 737, but at the bottom line the profit margin for the parent airline swing way in favor of the 737. It's all about productivity and cash flows in this business. The mainline pilots who give up scope really are giving up company productivity to a larger management cash flow. It's really what's killing this career.

Then why don't you guys make 2400 times what an RJ driver makes? Nice job dragging the industry down.
Actually RJ drivers make more money than mainline pilots. RJers make $0.003 per mile, mainliners make $0.002 per mile.

A Continental 10yr 777 captain makes $0.65 (rounded up from 0.64something) per hour per seat.

A SkyWest 10yr 50 seat captin make $1.48 per hour per seat flying the 50 seater, $1.05 per hour per seat for the 70.

A regional 10yr captain would make $39 an hour if they were paid the per seat rate Continental pays their equivalent 777 captain.

We (as in regionals), are apparently being paid TOO MUCH! This must be remedied! (Tongue planted firmly in cheek)

SHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! QUIET!!!!!!! STOP TALKING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some mangament puke is going to read that and try to get us regional pukes to take a pay hit based on that logic.

It's ok, don't worry. When Skywest gets a 110 seater, it will have bridged the gap.

if you ask me (and most people do) then what you're saying is that it's mainline's fault for not bringing the RJs online back in the 80's? How does that support your argument?;)

Dang, I coulda been scratching my arse or staring at the wall, but I wasted that precious time reading this.
