I've decided to jump ship at my current job. I've got recurrent scheduled in May. I plan on calling off sick for that. My new hire class starts in June. Do you think this will "bite me in the ass" at my new job?

What will you do if your new hire class is canceled or delayed? Never burn bridges.

Yeah it will.

Be a man and quit with honor. Treat people the way you would want to be treated, regardless of how they've treated you.

For cryin' out loud I can't believe adults need to be told this!!!

I ask myself is it really worth it to go through recurrent and there's that possibility of something going wrong on your checkride, which goes on your record, just to fly the line an extra month. Then start initial ground school all over again? I can't decide!!!

Give your two weeks notice on Monday and offer to continue flying till you start your new gig. If they accept life is grand, if not enjoy your vacation (from what I read here getting long periods of time off without pay is a benefit of being a commerical pilot).
