LAX was always only a 6 month project! There was no lease or other commitment made past June '07. This is one reason that you never had a LAX security badge.
The mainline had to have someone in LAX pronto to protect the unused gates or otherwise they were going to lose them. The LAX airport was one of two opponents to the reorganization plan. LAX had not received proper payment since the filing. LAX airport wanted those unused gates forfeited so they could lease them out to some other airline--which would have happened overnight had they been freed up.
XJET had been awarded the RFP bid in LAX prior to December, (November to be exact) but logistically could not start until June '07. The gates had to be protected by using them by last December. So, the unamed airline was used temporarily to protect those gates, with full knowledge that the operation would be short term until June.
Probably, no one, or certainly not enough, would have bid permanent positions in LAX with that knowledge. That would have forced your company to have TDY'd crew members there at great expense to the company. Quite simply, the information was withheld at your expense to cap their expenses.
Do you have the vision? Do you feel like a fellow team member who has been treated fairly and with respect? Do you feel like you are employed by one of the most trusted airlines in the eyes of the customers and the employees?
Your guiding principles allow you to challenge! Ask your Leadership Team if they have been honest with you in regard to LAX. They knew more than you were told, and they knew it in December, '06.
