Concur - that's pretty sick, dude. The only accident stuff worth watching is when the pilot/passenger escape, then you can say "cooool!". An example is a great series of Navy ejection sequences with cold cat shots or engine failures.

I see a statement that is worth looking at. Highlighted it says, "then you can say cooool!" I never said that the injury or death of people was cool, I said it makes for great T.V. Nowhere do I see in the post that I take pleasure, smile, laugh, or say cool. I said it makes great T.V.

I don't know if you know this or not but every military jet you see that a military pilot ejects from just cost the tax payers, that's me, millions of dollars. Some could say you are sick because you think it's cool for tax payers to lose millions of dollars. I can say this because you clearly say that it's cool when this happens. I did use the word awesome video in a post, that does not mean the same as cool, awesome, in this regard means graphic, not cool. The word I should have used was graphic.

Swede -

Your site is awesome, very nice work. You have great machining skills. Keep up the good work.

"I don't know if you know this or not but every military jet you see that a military pilot ejects from just cost the tax payers, that's me, millions of dollars."

According to your profile, you're an unemployed flight instructor, so in reality, it's NOT costing you anything!

More cool turbine stuff, including...

* Boat powered by a helicopter turboshaft
* Car-powered thermojet (allright, well, not really involving turbines, but still cool)
* Wood-burning turbo generator (although I didn't quite cactch where the, uhm, generator is)
* Multiple turbojets (including afterburning ones) made from car turbochargers
* Turbojet snowmelter

"Having said that, if a person gets hurt or killed and it happens to be on video, I would surely watch it. How often do you get the chance to see someone die on video."

"I didn't wish for Berg to be beheaded, but I sure did watch the video. I highly recommend it."

You may want to talk to a shrink!

C601-

You sound as if there's a conspiricy going on here! Do they know what caused it to crash yet?
It looks like either control system failure or radio interference to me. The model has plenty of airspeed, and just rolls in. Maybe someone else turned their transmitter on?

There used to be a group with a 1/4 scale B-29 flying somewhere in Iowa. 30 foot wingspan, electric start, and it took three people to fly. I never got to see it, and I don't know if it's still flying or if it's crashed by now.

Kudos to the B-52 team! That was quite an accomplishment.

You'll never know if you can or not, if you never try!

I have not had the chance to change my profile, I have been too busy working as a flight instructor. So yes, the military jets do cost me. Also what you don't see in my profile is working 18 years as a truck driver. That means that 38% of my wages went to taxes. There is an old saying for people who assume.

Why do I need to talk to a shrink. I am only saying what others are afraid to say. I did not take pleasure in Nick Berg's beheading, but I sure did watch the video. I highly recommend it. Why? so you can get an idea of the horror the guy went through, as well as other reasons. No matter how I spell it out the pu$$y a$$ liberals on this board would take me to task because they want to censor what I see or say.

Ahh yes the Nye thermodynamics crowd. These guys are a riot. Anyone who likes loud, dangerous devices needs to check them out. There's quite a few turbine lovers who are into the retrofitting of older turboshafts, and even converting JFS units, installing them into go-karts and such.

Isn't there a commercially available turboshaft motorcycle out there? I remember seeing it on Leno. Sweet!
