As a former regional FO and now an outsider looking in, I try to keep up with what's happening in the industry. Several regionals voting no on recent TA's has got me wondering what can happen. It's not like the mainlines can shift the flying to another regional. Regionals can't staff the flying they have now.

RAH is a larger regional and since the "No" vote there hasn't been much said on here or on APC about what's next.

What are you guys hearing?

The entire industy is at a stalemate. The regionals can't give out money they don't have. So unless the majors want to start ponying up some dough, pilots are going to continue to vote no on TAs.

They can either pony up the money to pay regionals more for the flying they do. Or they can pony up the money and do the flying themselves. Either way, the regional pilots are better off.

The no vote here at RAH was merely a hollow victory. The company and union tried to force through a joke of a TA that didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of passing. The company just seems hell bent on chasing off all current employees even though the unlimited supply of cheap labor has pretty much dried up. We're all in full speculation mode since no one seems to have a clue about what's going on.

Fully agree, but it took years (decades?) to get to this point, and it's something that isn't going to change back overnight either. Massive delays and cancellations, possible bankruptcies, and even regionals ceasing operations will all happen before pay takes a huge step in the right direction. The pendulum is just barely starting to swing down so there is a long way to go.

RAA is holed up w/ Roger Cohen trying to 'brainstorm' their way outa this mess lol

...or maybe they're all went to roger's place for tanning

You can guarantee it will be in the new hire bonus package they are putting together..
