Cool videos. The music was o.k. I like Rammstein and Megaherz...

Thats typical, the jets have such high wing loading, that untill they get alot of airspeed they just kinda tip stall there way around the pattern.

He turned way to early.

I know, Monday morning QB, but I have seen it many times.

The same thing happens on landings, the jet guys (alot) dont realize that indeed, you have to raise the nose to land the high wing loaded jets.

cool vids
maybe before I built an RV-8, I should put together one of these birds (for practice)

oh, and BTW, that's not russian techno, Avia has it right though

man, at 3-5k a pop, those engines arent really cheap. building a jet-model can cost as much as an RV-8 kit (unassembled)

These folks need better landing gear, I think i saw at least 3 have gear failures

Neat video (minus the audio!) - thanks. Looks like most of them were "dumb-thumbed" into the ground. Too bad.

Watched some of the other videos. better music and the best RC flying I've ever seen. Really mezmerizing (sp?).

yeah I was also going to say that it was German not Russian.

These guys are going to kill someone with those things... it must be hard to fly them.

yea....the one guy was having the plane fly pirouettes around him....i swear the camera man was getting freaked and taking a step back...:D

I wanna see a little pilot punch out of those things when one's just about to eat dirt! :D

Thanks Sky, that Tri-Star is pretty sweet. I would like to build one that had all three turbines kickin' it. That plane would haul arse.

There's kind of a Catch 22 about them going fast... you have to keep turning or loose sight of them!

Also, wouldn't it be difficult to figure out how much to turn it, if it was just a speck on the horizon??

it may be too late if it's only a spec. You have to keep a mental image of the attitude in your mind when flying at a distance. They'll only be a sillouhette (sp?) and the tendency is for your mind to tell you it's turning/flying the other way.

I've had one or two instances with new folks who's plane was flying away. You can get the plane back if it's a fairly slow, stable flyer. First, get the transmitter out of their hands (yank!), get it level. Make a slight turn and see which way it goes. Push the stick right and it goes left, it's coming back. Otherwise, turn it 180 and keep thinking about which response you need to keep it coming back.
