After flying on you guys (full fare as I am recently unemployed, you're welcome) I've noticed several things.

1. Why the universal PDA ban? Seems kinda odd. Sure some PDAs can wifi or even cell call (treo) but so can laptops, which didn't seem to be included in your ban. I was using my non wifi PDA as an MP3 player which torqued off the gals, but the guy next to me had no hassle with his IPod. What gives? You guys are the only ones with this policy.

2. 5 legs flown in last few weeks, all over an hour, all on smooth air days. Not once did the seat belt sign go off on any flight. Your passengers just ignore the sign anyway, so if it's not rocking & rolling or below 10K why not make the switch agree with the condition? Seems to prevent the gals from getting into it with the peeple that need to pee.

Anyway, not trying to start a flame war, just trying to see what's up, especially with the PDA thing...

The PDA thing has been done by PSA management. Don't ask me to explain it makes no sense. Some guys are afraid to turn off the sign I think because of liability. Also they have to remember to turn it on.. On shorter legs with a full service there is a school of thought that if the sign is on it's easier for the flight attendants to complete their service.

Pax dont pay attention to that seatbelt sign anyway, on ANY airline. Seems as soon as the aircraft gets airborne, people are jumping out of their seats to try the neat little Lav.
It seams like the captain trys to keep the sign on to help the FA out a little getting the cabin service complete without having to dodge pax.
