As I was reading through the stats on the different 747 carriers. Airline Pilot Pay .com had Atlas with a total of 43 74's and Polar with 12 I believe. Just wondered if those numbers were correct? Thanks in advance for any info..
And congrats on having some finality to a rough go of it with the contract!

Digital,

I think the actual fleet count is around 42, we lost an aircraft in DUS earlier this year. That count is for all planes under the Atlas Air Holdings umbrella (Atlas, Polar, and GSS), Atlas alone has 30 aircraft and the rest are split up amongst Polar and GSS.

Thanks for the information. I thought that 55 74's seemed to be a fairly large number for the combined total, but that clears things up. Again, much thanks!

What name does GSS operates under?
I am familiar with Atlas and Polar, but have no idea about GSS...
Thanks

Global Supply Systems (GSS) is a British registerd Atlas operation. I believe they operate 3 Atlas 747's that were converted to UK registry and fly freight for British Airways World Cargo. Most of their pilots are retired from British Airways.
