Hey-

I could not find the answer to this in the front of the Jepp's, so here goes. Around KIND, on the Jepp LO chart, there is a ring, inside of the class C ring. It is not a part time tower thing, but something else. I don't have the chart handy, but if anyone does, and knows what the ring symbolizes, I'd be appreciative. Thanks.

I don't look at those paper things much anymore ... :)

atldc9,

Special VFR weather minimums for fixed wing aircraft are not authorized within the lateral boundaries of the surface area. KSDF has the same too.
It's in the front of the Jepps...

You know, I missed the special VFR section because it is magenta in the legend, Jepp INTRO pg 56. I guess this it is magenta because of the Class B v. Class C? On Jepp INTRO pg 60, it shows the Blue version as being a 'Mandatory Broadcast Zone', but I really have never heard of that, so I am still not sure.

Appendix D to FAR 91 does list KSDF and KIND, among others, as not allowing Special VFR, so I think you are probably correct. Thanks.
