Question for the hardcore commuters

I'm looking for a list of airports that have all the terminals connected within security.... where you can go from any airline to the other and not have to go through security again. Example: ATL airport- You go through security once and then you can go from one terminal to the next without having to go through security again.

Just list any airports that you can think of like that. And what about ORD (Chicago O'Hare)?

All of the terminals that have AA or Eagle flights are connected.

Dont try and stay behind security when going to/from DL from AA -not gonna happen.

That is incorrect. In DTW, Northwest and Continental are in the new terminal. But all the other airlines are in the old terminal and you have to go back through security... believe me, I've had to do it. In MCO, you also have to go back through security in order to go from the "A" terminal to the "B" terminal. I'm not sure about MSP and IND. Yes, MEM is all connected within security.

Phoenix is good for that in terminal 4 (AmWest and Southwest). UAL is out of 2 (?) and you have to take a bus over for that one and redo security. Kinda stinky.

A couple that are NOT: BOS, STL. Can't wait 'till Delta gets their new terminal built in BOS. Changing between DAL and ACJet can be a pain in the a$$!!

It is quite a walk from one end to the other, but you can go through security for East Terminal (Southwest) and walk over a mile to the far end of the main terminal.

Memphis is not all interconnected- the northwest flights are, but Airtran, United, continental are in a separate wing with it's own security.

Dulles (IAD) is all one secure point but two separate terminal buildings with "buses" in between.

Somebody said Indianapolis (IND) but I thought Southwest was on a "C" concourse separate from everyone else (i.e. A and B are joined)

Columbus(CMH) is not (three separate checkpoints).

Boston is a nightmare! Everybody should boycott the place.

I stand corrected!!!!!


MSP has two terminals the Lindbergh and the Humphrey terminals..... The IMPORTANT info here is that all the airlines you'll NEED to commute on are in the Lindbergh Terminal. Humphrey houses Omni Air Charter, Champion Air, and a scaled down Sun Country.

I was incorrect on IND now that I think back, but It has been a while since I've been there(pre 9-11).

Memphis has built moving walkways between all concourses which links them together inside security.

You do have the option of clearing security at any of the three concourses though, but once your inside security you can go to all concourses without re-clearing. They did this because the Northwest Airlinks are located in the C and A concourses.

where is the walkway located? I haven't tried commuting through there for a while, but I haven't noticed it on layovers. sorry for the bad info...

If you clear security at B terminal you will see the walkways on your left and right as you enter the secured area. The one on your right goes to A concourse and the one on your left goes to the C concourse. It's been a while since I've been to the Air Tran gate, but I think they moved you guys to the north side of this new walkway, so you'd probably go out of the one with the security checkpoint since it is closer to the exit.

But just a little FYI... you're acting like this is classified info that we are discussing here on FlightInfo. Get real here?

I could think of a lot worse things that a terrorist could do. The thing that scares me the most is what if some terrorist got a hold of a cheap stinger missle launcher (the real portable ones). He could go out to any major airport and do whatever. To me, that is the probably the biggest threat, and I don't know what the U.S. has done about it.

So when you look at a threat like that, I think a terrorist could give a sh.it if the terminals in some airport are connected or not. In the future, please don't step in on any threads like you are Mr. CIA agent who is "running things." Thanks.

Sorry, I think NW flys out of terminal 1 and there is quite a walk to be done. I flew up on ACA took the train to terminal 3 and walked to 1, made it through security and to the gate in about 45 min.

However last week we brought back a Comair pilot who landed behind us. He got some one to drive him across the ramp and made it in 10.
