Therealstory,
Well, these will be approx numbers, but I will give it my best guess and I could be off alittle.
Remember, we just had about 281 Captains retire on Sept 1st alone, so the next bid could change all of these numbers....
1. Most junior pilot not furloughed---about 7502 (was 7783 before Sept 1st retirements)
2.Most junior pilot that was furloughed--TB Kane---about 8597 or 8878 before Sept 1st
3. Most junior 737-200 Capt--this has all changed since Delta Express is shutting down. Back in '99, guys in their 2nd year were getting awarded Capt on the 737-200 in MCO. It was crazy. I've never seen so many 28 year old Delta Captains.....
I would say now that most of the ATL and CVG Mainline Capts are 10 year guys who were FO's on the 767 for a long time. I would give them a current seniority number between 4500-5500. The pay rate currently on the 737-200 is very high--higher than an AA 777 Capt. That is why even the -200 is senior now. Most of those Express 28 year old Captains are ATL 737-800 FOs now flying to Caracas and Panama. The 737-300 West Coast based in SLC has very senior Captains that love to fly to Montana---those guys are 3000 and up for Reserve. The NYC Shuttle is flown with a 737-300 varient with a glass cockpit, and is kind of junior.( for people who mainly live in NYC, Washington DC, and Boston--they stay at home on their overnights in BOS and DCA)--Those guys are probably in the 5000 range.
4. Most Junior MD-88 Capt. I really can only guess. Some guys love that plane, and others would never ever bid it(like me). I would say 4500-5500 again. (about the same as 737-200)
5. The 737-800 is fairly senior because it pays only $6.00 less an hour than the 757/767. The junior guy in ATL is probably 3500-4000, and the junior guy in SLC is probably 2800.
6. The most junior base for 757/767 is LA, and the junior Capt there is probably 3500-4000. A lot of guys don't want to live there because Housing is expensive, and the commute might be tough. The junior guy in ATL or CVG is probably 3000. The INTL catagories in JFK and ATL are more senior--probably the junior guy is 2500. Just a guess.
Well, I hope that helps. I hope all of our airlines get healthier and I hope all of our furloughs, yours and ours, get back soon.
Bye Bye--General Lee
