Do SWA pilots fly all the variants of the 737? As in, could a pilot fly a -700 on one leg, and then the next leg fly a -300?

Happens every day, and it's rare (although getting more common) to have a multiday trip that is completely -700 flying.

We cant fly the -200 though, unless qualified (not many left)

...not to threadjack but....well, yeah to threadjack....

I hear so many people talking about working for SWA and wanting to interview with SWA....what's the appeal? What sets it apart from other carriers?

I have known a pilot who worked up to L seat, check airman, then asst chief pilot and now a chief p, for a dozen years.
He says Herb (the ex-owner) really knew how to run a company, knew how to take care of his employees.
Also they are about the only co that hasn't looked on the verge of bancrupcy in the last 10yrs.....
and they haven't yet killed a single passenger!

Of all my buddies working for major airlines.....the guys at SWA are the happiest. One left SWA many years ago to go to United....and is now out on the street. Even before 9/11 and furloughs he said he regretted leaving because he had so much fun at SWA.

I, personally, would like to do some international flying, but SWA doesn't do that...and I want to work there more than I want to fly international.
