I've got some friends booked on a Spirit Airlines flight in a couple of weeks... and they're wondering where the most comfortable seats considering noise and fresh air are... So the question for you "Mad-Dog drivers is which way does the general airflow go in the MD-80? Front to back or back to front? Another question I have is what is that annoying high pitch noise that seems to be most noticable from taxi to takeoff and just prior to and after landing?... Seems to be most noticable from the wing area. Boost pumps maybe? Thanks in advance for responses!

The whine is the aux hyd pump... will be off from after TO chk list to Descent check list (at least at DAL). Most comf. is the exit rows. The airflow is from front to back.

Thanks for the prompt reply!
