Question for Frontier Pilots

My Company is courting the Teamsters to represent us for an initial contract.

Can I have your input good and bad about the process?

- How long have you been negotiating a contract ?

I really do not know where to start. There have been so many things that the Teamsters have done to undercut/ not represent F9 pilots is unbelievable.
Pretty useless union and not very good at representing pilots.
I would take any other union over these guys. You have been warned. Ask a bunch of RAH pilots and see what they have to say? How many years without a new contract?

Yep! and over 2300 pilots at RAH and only 6 when to joined your side. Also need to know!!

any way to the original poster you can tell how the union crap goes! If you can get your own in house union try at least get your own local!! Or don't get any!!!

Those 6 guys all appear quite happy with their decision to come on over to the dark side of RAH (soon to be known as Frontier Airlines, formerly owned by Republic Airways Holdings). They are probably going to be even happier once separation occurs. Always nice to see pilots willing to take a risk and make sacrifices to achieve their goals.

As for those 2300 RAH pilots? I believe that exactly 1692 voted in the last election for IBT357. So it looks like more than 600 voted for something else or not at all. Anyone know how many of the RAHbros choose to simply NOT pay dues? Hint: the answer is NOT zero.

It's 9 former RAH'ers. As for the IBT goes, I don't recommend them. This is a personal opinion of course but the way I see it, they are highly inefficient and bureaucratic. They are top heavy and politically swayed. I will say I have had the pleasure of meeting the former President Pat Gannon and I am truly impressed with him. I feel, aside from his personal opinions on how the merger and IMSL is handled (which doesn't coincide with my own opinions), that he's a stand up guy. The biggest downfall with respect to IBT IMHO is that they are too hard-lined with management. Negotiations are supposed to be a bi-lateral agreement which goes against what the IBT stands for. Sure we all get angry and shake our fists and want the world but the reality is, if we do that, it's only going to create animosity and a bad negotiating environment. This is how the IBT operates and most management teams don't respond well, thus the expired contract that RAH is operating under. There are other reasons that RAH is operating under an expired contract but we can cover those in another thread if you like.
