Quick trivia question: Is it possible for an EMB135 to be within weight/CG limits w/ full seats (standard pax weights, I believe), NO baggage and enough fuel/reserves for 2.0 hour flight?

It's for another thread.

Thanks in advance,

C

I don't have the info with me. But my guess would be no. You would probably need ballast in the rear, if you had no bags.

Ballast was my guess, too, but I think the operator didn't want that as it would put the A/C overweight w/full seats.

Thanks for the quick response.

I don’t know about the 135 but the 140 MIGHT (and this is just a guess) do it with 40. First three rows empty (instead of 44) @ 180 lbs., 6k fuel, BOW of something in the 27.3k range. And your still pushing the FWD limit and Max pitch trim.
If history has taught us anything don't screw around with the weight and ballance and never trust an EMB's pitch trim

PS.
Yes the Gulf Stream is a better corporate a/c.
I did like the Whistling Sh#tcan Of Death comment though. :)

I know I've needed ballast in a couple similar situations with the 145. But I don't fly the short enough to run into these problems often.

Definitely not possible, the 135's CG is so far forward to begin with. Wish I had the ole CG wheel with me and I'd spin it up!

Again, thanks for the info. Sounds like a scary proposition.

With 37 pax on the EMB-135 you will need at least 1000 lbs in the cargo compartment to be in between the lines.

I agree. I've had several flights where we had to add balast due to light cargo loads.
