Why are there always so many planes sitting on that ramp not being used. Do I always come in there at a bad time or is it always like that?

Been like that for a while.

"APPARENTLY" , it is because we are too expensive.

I thought it was the new way to make money in the airline buisness?
Its amazing they can park 30+ airplanes for one year and still make $50 mil.

Because Comair's business plan was written by a room full of monkeys with typewriters. It turns out that airplanes are better when used as birds nests rather than means of conveyance. Who'd have guessed?

Ha ha. That was great. A good laugh. Well you see when 50% of your flying is on the east coast you want to keep 20 cold spares in Cincinnati and one in New York so when a plane goes down in LGA, JFK, BOS, DCA etc etc you can have a ready reserve crew fly one over there and arrive 3 hours after the flight has been cancelled. Simple don't you see?

Find a place to park them in LGA, JFK, BOS, and DCA and I think they would move a few up there.
