Does Pace have Cat II/III approval on the 757's?

Also, pretty sure I heard that you guys are ETOPS on the 75's.

Thanks.

Sure thing! I think the two fit nicely.

(And I'm not talkin about the two in my avatar, but those fit nicely as well):pimp:

Your avatar brings back a pleasant memory of a jumpseat ride I provided one of their Captains a few years back. I think we did all the checklists :D

I agree 110%. Would be a great thing for ABX since:

1. pax operations are not considered "a competitor" of DHL and they would not have any say in the operation.

2. give ABX a 737 program that could allow ABX to purchase cargo 737's.

3. Allow ABX to expand on their maint. program that they have been building.

4. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The stockholders love that.

how deep do we have to go here? I can keep going on and on, but those come to mind so easily.

more fuel

ABX Air announced today the creation of the position of Chief Operating Officer. It has hired John Graber, an industry veteran, to fill the post. The new position is designed to best position ABX Air to move forward strategically.

"During 2007 ABX Air will lose three key executives through retirements and John will provide the added expertise to ensure our continued success both short and long term," said Joe Hete, President and CEO. In his new role John will report to the CEO and have direct responsibility for Flight Operations, Maintenance and Engineering and Ground Services.

Graber, an industry veteran with over two decades of civil and military operational experience comes to ABX Air from AAR Corporation, where he was the President and General Manager of Aircraft Services Indianapolis - one of the largest MROs (Maintenance Repair Organization) in the nation. Prior to that, Graber was the Senior Vice President of Operations and General Manager of the Military and Charter businesses at ATA Airlines. His experience includes over 10,000 hours of flight time as a pilot. He has flown as a check airman, served as a chief pilot, and is a decorated combat veteran of Desert Storm. He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

"John Graber brings a strong record of international operational excellence to us.” Hete said. "He led one of the largest international charter airlines at ATA. He was the senior operational leader on the team that successfully guided ATA through some difficult times. We’re looking forward to having his business skills, experience and energy working for ABX Air.”

just for fun i hope.....

You guys sure provide a hopeful breath of fresh air to an otherwise hopelessly stagnant, holding on to dear life, irrelevant operation that was pillaged, plundered and ridiculously mis-managed. If there was any truth to the abx-pace deal, it wouldve happened long ago. What has happened tho is: abx has expanded overseas with a foreign carrier, bought more 767 lift, and is now a takeover target of ASTAR, which they might as well do, since abx is astar's biggest subcontractor. Pace has nothing that abx wants. ABX already has their own MX ops, (pace offers very little here when you take into account that any suitor would also have to absorb any all all possible debts by pace(which far outweigh any benefits of a 145 acquisition). Brooks turned an otherwise healthy little 121 airline with good relationships, decent balance sheet, client list and great bunch of people and rolled it on one throw of the dice.

Pax ops would only serve as a worsification of what a cargo airline does (read: not a diversification). why would any self-respecting cargo airline now want to get into bottom-feeding pax junkets to casinos, or islands?

i doubt if pace's ETOPS is still current and even if it was, it would be a tall order to get any ETOPS capable aircraft at decent prices today if it were a 75, anything else and you now involve adding a new aircraft to the certificate.

all in all, the cons heavily outweight the pros here for anyone to acquire pace. i hope you guys are speculating for entertainment's sake because pace offer no value for the cost in most departments, they went from a 22 aircraft airline to a 2-3 plane company. (their website hasnt been updated since hooters air was a going concern). It has been a sinking ship, all the rats have abandoned it and quite frankly, what kind of success do you expect from an airline that pegs its hopes on someone coming in with money? to do what? buffet could pump billions into this place, but with the current management in place nothing would come of it except money thrown down the tailpipe's of their fuel thirsty JT8D's.

Hope you guys have a plan b,c or d.
