This may not be the best time to ask but how can someone who is currently at a regional (F.O. in Brasilia) position themselves to get noticed and hired by Alaska. I will probably be going into the RJ around Dec. & Jan.

I realize currently most applicants & newhires have way more hours than I do but I figure it never hurts to ask & plan for the future.

Any info would be appreciated!

JeepMan,

A couple of things: The typical newhire has about 5000 total with 1000 turbine ME PIC. They seem to be set in stone on the turbine PIC part so get that first. Moving into a CRJ will not help at all. The best way to get a call for an interview after you have that is to attend any or all of the major job conferences that the Alaska recruiters are attending. ( AIR inc, WIA, OBAP etc). You would need a couple LOR's from pilots at Alaska Airlines with you when you attend. There is an in house referral program that works but it is a long process. And a 4 year degree is almost a requirement. These are just my impressions and others may know better. Good Luck !!!!
