That shouldn't be a deal killer. Explain what transpired and what you've learned from the experience. Also show that you had situational awareness, and avoided any injuries by pilotage and decision making.

most likely no problem

I had an accident years ago (which was subsequently determined to be carburetor failure) and I had the same concerns. It is of little negative consequence, and some companies favor your experience. I had no problem obtaining a job with a Part 121 airline. You did good work. Nobody died, and they can always replace that tin can. Most importantly nothing in the report says "pilot error." You may come across some job postings occasionally that say "no accidents or incidents," but you don't want to work for those people anyway. Who better than you to fly an airplane, someone who is willing to glide all the way to the ground (or water) instead of freaking out and pulling up into a stall?

Just make sure that whenever you talk about it, on job applications or interviews or whatever, you make it a positive. i.e. "Successful ditching after partial power failure...no fatalities or penalties."

one of the guys I interviewed with crashed twice...he got hired.....

an old roommate of mine accidentally landed with his gear up....got hired at a regional..

It's no big deal as long as you have a positive attitude about it, and as long as you learned something from it. The last thing they want is someone who doesn't care, or doesn't have any accountability for his actions..
