Hey folks,

For those of you working at EA, what do you think of the quality of life there? Besides the fact that it takes forever to upgrade, how does the contract compare with other regionals like XJ, CHQ or SKW? Any highlights on min days off, money, moral of employees, maintenance, days off...etc is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Over all, it isn't bad. I am a commuter so this is my perspective. Min days off is 11. money is better than some. right now it is 23.91 for the first year and goes up nicely if you are on a jet and goes up some for the props. Moral is very low. Usually the senior fos that are not happy becuase of the length of upgrade. Upgrade is going to come down for a little while but will most likely beniffit the senior fos only. then it will go back to a trikle unless the legacys start hiring more. Only time will tell. I am happy here I am furloughed from XJ. The contract I worked under at XJ had a couple of verynice things like min day pay. If you went to fly you got paid 4 hours of pay even if your trip was 45min. At eale you get paid block or better, no min day. The ultimate decider is what you can live with. I can accept the long upgrade because I am with a more stable, for the moment, company and eagle isn't contractor like XJ,CHQ,XJET, or who ever. The onething with the companies that are growing like mad right now. It will end becuase there is only so much flying out there, just my .02, and eagle has maxed out for now. We are not getting any new planes so things will be slow for a while. I am not saying not to work for a contractor verses a wholey onwned, i am just saying the parent is less likely to take flying away from one of its money makers. There is a better chance of us being sold. To sum it all up, if you can find an airline at home that is the best quality of life.
