Anyone know of a cheap place to stay in San Juan for a couple days. Any Eagle people ever offer crash pads for a few nights at a reasonable price?

The cheapest I've been able to find so far is the airport hotel at $74/night.

Try Mango Inn, a few miles south of the old San Juan, I was over there a few days ago, 60 bones a night...can't seem to find a link for it now, but just search the web for it..no frills hotel, cheap too

there's a dirt cheap place (guest house) in old san juan on tanca street. 2 years ago there was a small denny's restaurant a couple doors down from there

the rooms facing the street are decent

if you have to, rent a van and stay in it.

on vieques; casadeamistad.com ($17 dorm rooms)

there's total poverty in pr, yet rooms are $100 plus down here - unreal!

thanks for the leads. If anyone else has any leads on cheap lodging in Puerto Rico, please chime in.

there's rooms in houses around international airport, private entrance etc - i'm staying with a former prinnair heron piot for $10/day.

i heard there was an apt across from pizza city in isla verde for cheap.

there's some dives in santurce.

you can rent a house in the rural pr for $250/month

Try the Caribe on Isla Verde Ave. (Avenida Isla Verde).

Charlie renta-a-car has cheap, new compact cars for around $20.

The West side of the island is very nice and less expensive. The Borinquen Inn offers rate around $40 - $50 a night with crew ID
