Does anyone have any info on Publix Supermarkets or Watkins Motor lines Flight Departments? I've recently retired from the Navy and have been looking for a job with the Airlines, but a few people I know have mentioned these companies since they are based in Lakeland Florida, where I've chosen to live. These are folks who know about the companies, but know little about flying. If anyone has any info about what they pay, flight schedules etc., I'd appreciate it.

Also, any other good companies that are worth looking at in the Orlando, Lakeland, Tampa area?

I fly out of LAL and am also interested in responses. What I can offer is that Publix flies a Lear and a King Air. They are hangared next to Gulf Coast Avionics on the NW side of the field.

What kind of Lear? When I lived in LAL they had a Citation and 2 King Air 200's .... excellent company to work for, King Air's are all day trips... company stock, great benifits (though this gouge is over 5 years old so take it with a grain of salt). When I first got furloughed a buddy who works (non-flying, but rides a lot) said they were hiring one pilot due to a retirement... very low turnover there.
