Hey now!

Looking for ways to tell if your PT6A-20A has been upgraded to a -21 on a C90. What to look for on the airplane. Assume no logbooks.

Thanks

Not real sure externally how to tell except for the data plate. Internally, the -21 has a much more durable hot section. -20 has a single fuel manifold, I think that the -21 might have a multiple fuel manifold. Haven't really seen a -20 for about 12 yrs. Operated a DHC-6-100 for a while, real dog. Converted it to -27s, then it was a real good airplane.

No logbooks?

Customs siezed aircraft? Repo? Any other reason and I wouldn't get too close if I were you.

PT6A-20/21

The -20 has single and the -21 have duplex fuel nozzles, in other words, the -21 will have parallel fuel pipes around the can.

But without logs, you don't know the status of life limited components inside.

Got it

Thanks all for the replies. The temps on the - 21 are lower than the -20A in the POH. Plus the data plate was a definite giveaway. Amazing what you can find out when you open your eyes.
