The new hires have said a chief pilot has been telling them in their interviews there will be a short upgrade! Where are the aircraft coming from. I haven't heard anything.

Funny I remember hearing that same line of sh!t in my interview almost 3 years ago...still in the 60s for CLT fo's with the only people leaving junior to me and more JJs appearing senior to me. Someone's bs'in. at least they are attempting to cover attrition, I value my 11 days off a month.

yep, you guys hit the nail on the head. They're telling people what they want to hear to get them on the property. We are hiring guys w/ less than 600hrs flt time. One had 500hrs.

Upgrade is >5yrs and increasing with the CEL guys coming on the property. Time on reserve...forever.

PS watch out they are threatening to put cameras watching the V-files

I guess it just proves that management knows how bad our pay and QOL is that they have to lie to get people to work here.

Here is the truth.

1.5 years to get off reserve in CLT.
Another 4 years after that to upgrade.
First year expect to make $20k.
Second make that $25.
If you can live the next 5 or 6 years making an average of $30k then this place is for you. If you want to make more $$$ then work at a restaurant and collect tips.

Airplanes are good but desperately need to be cleaned.

Training dept is great, they will answer any question you have.
Scheduling is... in junior man mode.
OLD MEC doesn't like the New MEC. Point fingers. It is always someones elses fault.

Yeah, when I interviewed there it was 1-1.5 year upgrade. I lasted nearly 2 years and was about to be back on RSV before I left. The one thing that always bothered me about that company was the misinformation that always circulated. Sometimes I thought it was intentional.

i was told 6 months to a year upgrade. bahwhwahahahhaahahahahaaaaaaaaahahahahaahahahahahaahahaha
still makes me laugh hysterically when i'm not crying uncontrollably. svcta word is you left because management blackballed you after your public critcisms of aldridge's highland grog.

Maybe its because, the J4J check airmen have been recalled. I really dont think they would need to hire multiple check airmen to train the 7 or 8 new J4J guys that showed up.

These are just rumors. Kind of like you getting blue, er, blackballed from Stubby's.

Besides I have my own bathroom now. One door missing leaves another one open? I enjoy the bathroom at the end of D. Only bad thing is no one can give you a mint and bother you with a paper towel before you even wash your hands.

I think they are saying its possible to upgrade in a year and half.

(If enough people bypass, right?)

I don't even think that's possible because the last internal upgrade here was about a year and a half ago. Tell those interviewees that some of us who have been here for 1.5 years are still enjoying 5am hot reserve, sometimes even twice a week.

"hot" reserve only means that you get to hang out in the crew room with some flaming-gay flight attendants. C'mon, you know you love it.

Are they still making you guys sleep in that closet behind the bar? I swear they must have had to assemble that couch in there.

Nah, they took one of the offices and put a chair, loveseat, and couch in there. We're moving up in the world!

from the inside

EDUC8,
Last internal upgrade (meaning Dork driver) was a few weeks ago. That being said, Upgrade here is a long way away.
You could saute' in this toilet for a couple of years, leave to another reginal and upgrade before your slot would have at PSA. Oh, and you will make more pay your 2nd year somewhere else.
I don't care to elaborate on the other situations here, but I can assure you, coming here to PSA will be as pleasant as walking into a stall and finding a "Corn eyed brown trout" floating in the bowl.
All the bathroom talk is appropriate for this thread.

Yeah, but wasn't it just over a year before the last upgrades? (Not talking CEL guys who upgraded from right seat of Dash to right seat of 170 to left seat of CRJ)

The situation at PSA is complicated and hard to predict. There is a movement now to litigate the CEL pilots that are taking upgrade from our poor beat up F/Os. These CEL guys are on the property because of a legal maneuver that USAirways MEC agreed to and COULD BE in violation of the current CBA an current LOA's.
