A friend of mine got hired recently and was told of an April class, now it seems they are on hold.....any idea what is going on? Thanks.

It's called 3/15/05. That's the date US Airways must present their reorganization plan to the judge. This will more than likely include any possible additional investors.

If no investors show up, then the show is for all intents and purposes over. Stay tuned.

FWIW.....they are interviewing today at the CLT training center. I saw the suits and ties roaming the halls this morning. Of course those suits and ties were on the hopeful new hires. The interviewers were wearing jeans and tennis shoes.

true

I interviewed yesterday and we were told that everybody ( if selected for the job) would go into a pool for a possible may/ june class. More planes should arrive by july ( ithink another 35 CRJ200's).
Seems like a great place to be if everything works out for US AIR.

We won't be getting any more 200's. We were only supposed to get 35 and that is what we have.

you are correct. no more 200's. If we emerge from bankruptcy there is talk of more 701's.

As far as I know there are still 2 classes scheduled for April. There will be continuous hiring, just at a slow pace - to cover regular attrition which is around 22%.

I would also look hard into what happens with the AWAC deal. If they end up placing there CRJs at USAir, they will find themselves with an excess of RJs.

Wait, none of you guys knew we're getting 65 B777-300ERs?!

Lance, didn't know you but RIP

be careful out there guys
