Which one? Glory holes? or the 700's? The whole glory whole thing, just make sure you know whats behind it and about the 700's? I'll believe it when I see it.

Aw, 328dude, don't end the thread so quickly. I mean, what would PSA (or any airline for that matter) be without rumors? And why is CMR trying to get rid of 700s?

328dude knows EVERYTHING about PSA so don't second guess him. Just ask him and he will tell you. He surfs all the message boards every hour so he is in the know.

Hooraay!!! We are taking 7 planes away from another carrier!!!! Yea, we grow and those poor bastards will shrink, causing many of them to lose their jobs, but so what!!!! It sure is good for me! Typical attitude of a PSA pilot, why am I not surprised.

straight from JR, No new anything in the near or forseable future. Nothing will be decided until after the completion of the merger, which is still a long way off. Status quo for now.

hey 79% thats a pretty rude comment and as a PSA pilot I take offense to that. In no way shape or form do I support flying being taken away from another carrier. Careful who you speak for.

79%, what do you base this opinion on?

I dont know if we are hiring or not, but your welcome to apply. You'll be on reserve a minimum of 2 years (life on reserve is god aweful) and you might be eligible for upgrade in about 10 years.

Hiring

I have been treading water since September. I believe there is another interview group behind me as well, but I am sure most have moved on. There may only be a few of us left treading water by now.......patiently waiting.

If reserve is 2 years and upgrade is 10 years, why are people sticking around for that long? It's the same at AE and Comair. I really don't know and was looking for some answers. PSA was one of the few regionals I was thinking about applying to.

Right now it is looking like reserve (Dayton base anyways) is going to be 6 months or so. Upgrade was at 4.5 years but I don't think they have upgraded anybody in the past few months so who knows. It boom or bust over here. The big plus is that, at least for now, we are stable compared to some of the other regionals who are being threatened with loss of flying.

Yes, I was being a little dramatic. Reserve is going to be longer then 6 months though. In all honesty probably closer to a year down in CLT which is where all newhires go. About upgrade. . . it really dosent exist here. If you consider that at the "current" upgrade average which is around 4 a month, I'm still looking at least another 4 years and I've been here for some time now.

Nethan did make a good point about this place being somewhat stable and I stress the word somewhat. Things can change on a dime however I'm not holding my breath.

I am all about taking flying away from the contract/pay for departure guys and giving it back to the WOs, its ours and we deserve it.

Ours? We own the routes? Don't think so.

Don't know about PSA, but I have heard that the CRJ's that CMR is returning include CRJ700's, although I don't know how many. They may go back to Bombardier and US/AW may have a deal to trade in some 200's for 700's.

It wouldn't surprise me if any RJ operator would endeavor to switch their CRJ200's for CRJ700/900's if they can. Consequently, there may be some truth to this.

As far as CMR is concerned, no one is happy about what happened there, but in the long run DAL will likely divest itself of CMR, just like ASA, and that may be for the best for CMR.

As far as the 5 700's that CMR lost on Jan 31st, they are returning to the schedule as of Apr 1st. So I don't think we really lost them, they just parked em for two months so they could wrangle a pay cut out of us...

Oh this is just too good to pass up.
Please please please remember that statement the next time you fly one of my old DC-9 routes in your shiny little RJ...!!!!!!!!!! And doing it for less than I used to pay in taxes every year.

Rf you were probably on a -9 for maybe a year then the bus then the street. I would accept your statement from a guy who was on the DC-9 since 1968 but you were hired for the training float while they trained for the Bus at US Air. BTW You seem to be enjoying flying your old routes in the shiny RJ right now (J4J).
