DO NOT GO TO PSA...........

LINES SUCK

SCHEDULE SUCKS

PAY SUCKS

AND MANAGEMENT WONDERS WHY THE PILOTS MORAL IS LOW.....CHRIST LOOK AT OUR SCHEDULES..........TWO FRIGGIN YEARS OF RESERVE.......

The answer is

exJ41,
I feel your pain. This is the way KH/TK want it. They both enjoy showing off to Tempe and stick it to labor. Our displeasure is the icing on the cake for them.

Well, Just do what all the FO's at PDT are doing! JumpShip! US Airways WO's are the training grounds for contract carriers!

I myself after 7 years at PDT started the application process!!! My first two years at PDT was a blast.... But every since then its really gone downhill fast!

Depending on how much time you have at PSA already, you might want to think hard about leaving!

Good Luck

Sad, but true. I left PSA 5 years ago to go to Skywest. Great move for me.

Those of you that meet the mins and either have an ATP or are willing to get one, check out the fractionals, namely NetJets. Better than all regional and most, if not all, majors.

Check out some of the stuff on the fractional forum for more info.

Thought you turned down the place because it was so bad. Looks like you knew what you were getting into from your previous post.

Ditto

I just turned down working at PSA.
One of the reasons was the commute. Other was the pay. More importantly
was that 9 days in my own bed a month is not enough. All these things
added up didn't make sense. I would love to fly for PSA, but as what was
said earlier. Live to Live not to work. What are your priorities in life?
My are easy:
1) My health
2) My Wife
3) My Career.

And no changing the order.[/quote

Yes, at first i did, then i got a great part 91 job that ended up not being great. So in order to feed the kids etc i had to take the first available.
If you have a choice PSA should be a last option. If you think a wholly Owned is better think again. I was under the illusion that this regional was different. I was wrong.

I rode in the van this morning with a PSA crew and they said that mainline wants to recall 80 J4J guys. Only PSA management staff they can't leave for 9 months. How is that possible? Is it because they are wholly-owned?

After talking with that crew, I really felt bad for how you all have gotten the shaft. I hope you and your MEC can do something to make it a better place to work.

The 9 month hold is part of the J4J deal. It was put in there so that 80 guys could not leave all at once, leaving said carrier short. Why they are being held can be argued but they can do it. Being from a WO has nothing to do with anything. All pilots that are doing the J4J thing are APL pilots on the US Air seniority list.

Why would we want to? US Air is a garbage airline. And no, we dont.

I can't argue with that. All I will add is that today's turd could be tomorrow's diamond. Just look at the turnaround at CAL. It's not the best by anyone's stretch, yet it has come a long way since the dark days of Lorenzo.

I say it is a good thing that they are holding JJ's for 9 months, if they let them go, then there are back fill positions and who will fill them???? YOU GUEST IT........ CEL'S!!!!! If they wait then those CEL's will go to Republic E85 and run off the end of the runway on a snowy day in CLE

Clipper,

You do realize that you will NEVER upgrade at PSA right? It wont happen so don't for one second think that these JJ's leaving helps you, me, us one bit. I promise you that management will find some other way to screw us.

Thats a fact jack, deal with it.

You guessed wrong. No APLs left. All went to Republic. PSA is APL free soon.

BTW, J4J can't fly at Shuttle America, Einstein.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff?
First I dont believe there are many if any pilots left to backfill these positions.
Second, Why would anyone want to go to PSA when there are Republic 170/175 captain positions available? Hard to believe but Rep. pays better and has better working conditions.
Third, there are only 5 APL pilots at PSA that came from PDT, so you will have to blame the stagnation at PSA on something else.
You guys really need to get a grip, you dont seem to realize how much damage you guys are doing by fighting over 5 lousy positions. Try looking at the big picture.

PSA and PDT are doomed!! PDT doesn't have a business plan after 2009! I see more and more Dash's leaving the property in the near future (remember we have Dash's that were built before many of our new hires were born) !!
US Airways has already said there are too many 50 seat RJ's flying! My guess is that once the leases come up on the 50 seat RJ's, there gone!!

Both Airlines shrink............ Whats left you combine into CRJ 700's and a few Dash 8 300's!!! And either keep or a Nice package to be sold off!!

But that just my guessing!

Hi

I need a degree to fly boxes at night. Go figure.

B190 Capt. who your friend in the picture & can I get her number? Is it not wierd that you can go to one of these pilot factorys, have no college degree, no turbine time not even really do any real flying as a, CFI, FAR135 freight, etc. in some cases... Be flying a CRJ with 50-70 passengers relying on you in winter weather....

But you need a college degree, preferable ex-military, 1000+ turbine as PIC to fly boxes for FEDEX or UPS?

It all about the almighty dollar I suppose :)

I am well aware JJ's can't go to Shuttle America, don't get your panties in a bunch

No CEL class.

Class of 8 FOs last week and 12 this week.

Where the heck did they find 20 guys that want to come here?

I guess so. I meet all the req's except for the degree. I enrolled in online college so I can get it. I figured a 20 year break from school was enough. I am studying to be a pilot!! LOL
