Hey, are you guys getting the CRJ-700 ---70 seater, or the CRJ-705 which is a 90 seat version with 70 seats (including the first class section etc..) I have seen that Mesa (Amwest) 90 seater (which is a 705 version I believe) and it looked like an MD-80 with winglets. It was "wicked."

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes: ;)

When it was first announced that PSA was getting the 60 50 seat crj's there was an also an order for 25 705's. No one ever said offically who was getting the 705's. The 705's went over the MGW and seats of the JFJ Large small jet definition. So the way that it was put in the DOT paper work, they are just going to be the CRJ-701's I guess that is the 700's just 70 seats.

Note: My statement only refers to the aircraft in the DOT paperwork. I am not saying we are getting them.

Thee has not been any official annoucement that PSA is getting CRJ-700's or whatever.

Untill then, take whatever public information that is out there as a grain of salt.

Untill Group releases a press release that states that PSA is to receive X number of CRJ-70?'s, every bit of information is just rumor.

It was the same thing as the 50 seaters issue.

is mesa the only carrier flying the 705's?

Mesa fly's the 701's and 900's. No one flys the 705 (a 900 with 75 seats) Mesa IS the only carrier flying the 900 though. -Bean

BTW, CL are you guys on line yet?

FWIW,

I'm in the middle of IOE....my instructor is scheduled to go to YUL in February for -700 training.

I know....grain of salt.

RU: The DOT filing is only a required step in case 70 seaters do come here. I assume they wanted this step completed to keep things on schedule.

That's all.

Grain of Salt my friend.

I understand that the DOT filing is a formality and no official indication that we are getting anything. However, the Background section of the document says, "PSA is also slated to receive larger 70-seat Canadair-701 regional jets to be put to use in early 2004." Sounds like deliveries are already scheduled.

What if USAirways doesn't make it?

Seems like a lot of pessimism out there among USAirways pilots I have talked to lately. What would happen to PSA then - in that worst case scenario? Would PSA close shop too or somehow operate a stand-alone operation?

Good luck to all involved!

I think its all going to depend on the next round of mainline concessions. Mainline management is scared shi#less with Southwest moving into PHL in May.

I have no idea what would happen to PSA.

Also we would have to stomach the fact that you voted YES to your contract, and we (the pilot group) did not get to vote on ours.

Actually, we did vote on our "concessionary" contract. It was voted down by the pilot group, but then narrowly passed by the MEC. Then a few months later the MEC voted in concessions for us too. Oh well, atleast we have more than 8 days off.
