I don't know if someone else posted this on here but on PSA's website it says the mins are now down to comm multi. Any word from any PSA pilots if they are actually going to hiring with that low of time?

not sure I would have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. Wow. Hate to have to be a captain there, but this is a good sign for anyone who burns kerosene for a living.

No joke...

Here it is...

PSA Airlines, Inc. is actively recruiting Pilots to fill positions in all crew bases.

PSA operates 35 CRJ-200 and 14 CRJ-700 aircraft. Current Pilot domiciles include Charlotte, NC; Dayton, OH; and Knoxville, TN. PSA Pilots receive eight weeks of training: four weeks of Ground Training is taught at the Training Center in Dayton, OH; two weeks of simulator training is currently conducted in Charlotte, NC and two weeks of Initial Operating Experience. In addition to paying our trainees their 72-hour monthly guarantee and per diem while in training, PSA provides hotel accommodations.

PSA Airlines, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental, 401(k) and flight benefits on all US Airways flights.

To be considered, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Commercial, Instrument and Multi-engine rating
First Class Medical
FCC License
Valid Passport

Well, first of all ATP eligibility. so there's 2 years right there if you're at their hiring mins. Plus the never ending saga of the fabled PSA upgrade.

It's called PSA can't get any pilots to work here anymore, Mgt still believes in beating up the pilot group in an effort to get them to play ball. Morale is at an all time low, pilots are jumping ship and Mgt is getting desperate for pilots. This summer PSA will probably start to implode, and none of the pilots really care, because they are tired. I would think long and hard before coming to PSA, it's not the company it used to be. Good luck!

Replace every occurrence of "PSA" with "PDT" and you have another wholly-owned nightmare, only worse. Who wants to fly a cruddy turboprop when you can fly a faintzy jayutt plane!

I was pretty happy there for about the first 4.5 years. After that I was miserable. The management goes out of their way to make your life miserable. You will be treated as a liability rather than an asset to the company. The hotels are absoutely horrible. The schedules bite. How many other companies have a hot reserve where you have to sit at the airport for 10 hours and dont make any money for it other than perdiem??? There are plenty of other regionals out there that are much better....

So what changed after 4.5 years? How long is reserve?

So what changed after 4.5 years?

Dependability program, J4J program, hotels got worse and worse, and the blatant violation of the contract on a day to day basis. Is there anyone at PSA that would recommend a friend come there? Last I herd reserve was 1 year + in CLT

I used to be happy to invite my friends over, now I warn everyone to stay away, apologize to the ones that I talked into coming here a few years ago. I now try to tell everyone here to save thereselves. Life at PSA has gotten horrible. I have been here since the late 90's and the last 1 1/2 to 2 years PSA has lost it's way and fallen off a cliff. If you want continous contractual violations, constantly fighting for pay that is owed, horrible scedules (most senior line is 13 - 15 days off and uncommutable thats for a 20+ year guy) a illegal dependability program, constantly looking over your shoulder to see if mgt is trying to have you fired today, threatened to fly planes that the captain deems unsafe, well then come to PSA. I used to love it here but now like everyone else I hate it.

Sounds like life at just about every US airline, regional or major.

Jail

I heard that PSA's hotels are compared to being in Jail.
Can't go outside for fear of getting shot, stabbed or worse raped.

Go to work at PSA, all in all not so bad considering the Low "Mesa" style pay and reduced per diem. But check into the low class hotels and you are literally in Jail. Can't go outside, no workout rooms, no food, no transportation to anywhere. We are all serving prison terms for something we didn't do. Just a shame management doesn't respect us.

And no hotel bar???

Man, I can vouch for the hotel situation when I was there. And the hotel they stay at where I live now is in a part of town that is not good(to put it lightly). It used to be a decent overnight....not anymore.

"No Bar"?

Crap there is rarely a local gas station around to get a 6 pack.

You know.....Nobody should take open time or junior manned till the hotel and schedule situations change.

Hi!

USA Jet is hiring. We stay in decent hotels. Upgrade shouldn't be too long, to either the -9 or Falcon Capt. 1st yr. FOs base is $33K on the Falcon. 1 of our Falcon FOs made $7k last june. 1 of our Falcon capts made $15K in Feb.
