PSA Interviewing

Got a interview with PSA; company to have 60 CRJs pronto! What's
the working environment? ALPA? Schedules? Senior & Junior
base? Pay for F/Os? Interview Gouge? any other pertinent info.Thanks

Working at PSA is typical of any regional airline. As far as schedules go they suck. I am a reserve captain and work every reserve day. We get min 10 days off. From what the F.O.'s say they don't have it as bad and you can usually hold a line within 3-4 months. The current bases are (in senority from most senior to junior) are

1. Pittsburgh

2. Knoxville

3. Dayton

4. Akron

With all these new jets you can also look forward to having a base in PHL and CLT.

In terms of ALPA there is a lot of mixed feelings, it sort of depends on which side of the fence you sit on.

By far the scheduling dept. is the most unorganized group in the company. They do things that are as stupid as they come. I can not say enough bad things about them. It is not the people, but rather how they do their job.\

What are the competitive mins for PSA? Do you need an internal rec.?

Well we got a memo a few weeks ago asking the pilot group if we know any "good" people looking for a job. They want us to send in their stuff with a lor from a pilot. In terms of time.. I think that if you have the mins then you will be ok. To put things in perspective I got hired in 2000 with 450 hours, lowest time guy ever hired and no I had no inside track. We will be hiring almost as many in the coming year as Southwest and a bunch of us are trying our best to move up the ladder in our careers. Wish you luck.
