Has anyone heard rumors of PSA downsizing its Dayton base? Also what are the chances of getting dayton out of training? Also when you are on reserve do you actually fly or do you sit in a crash pad for six days? Thanks for the help.

Dayton is the center of the Universe, It will never close, You should be able to hold it immediately AND You will Fly!

When they get done with you, you can only dream of being able to sit somewhere for six days....HAHAHA you will be assimilated.....

Yeah I am from Richmond IN, and I could possibly sit reserve at home as long as it is an 1.5 hr call out. Is dayton not a good base? It has to be better then the base I am at now.

Thanks all for the response, a couple other questions how many days a week does training run, is it a mon-fri deal or do they go 6 days a week. Does anyone see the time of reserve decreasing in the near future? How solid is a possible flow through agreement with airways? Thanks for the help.

Training is 5 days a week. I don't see DAY getting much smaller then it is now (although they said that about CAK, PIT and PHL too). Time on reserve? Who knows... if we get more planes or the JJs go back or the moon is made of cheese... There really is no way to know. I have my first hard line next month and that will be one year since I started training. Build ups come a little earlier. But again... that all could change.

As far as the flow through to mainline? It's out there somewhere but I wouldn't plan on ever actually seeing it happen.

As a furloughee does PSA give preferential hiring to those people? Does PSA discourage hand carrying a resume into HQ? Any help with getting on with PSA would help greatly. Thanks in advance.

If you are furloughed, that means you have already flown at an airline before. That gives you a leg up on 95% of the other candidates. That alone would be your ace in the hole.

Flow

Do we really care about the flow up to mainline?
Aren't there more pressing issues?

Like QOL improvements?
Hotel improvements? Ones with restaurants nearby? (XNA)
Duty rigs?
Resonable pay rates..........

We could all be here for the next 10 years....Why not make it a good place to work?

I know any QOL issues are a huge improvements to my current company that just started furloughes, but while we are on the subject if anyone could tell me a little about the issues mentioned above it would help greatly.

I don't know of any Furloughes....but flying on reserve can be hit or miss. Back in november whilse on reserve in Dayton i flew a total of 12 hrs.
Sat in the Travellodge for a month..Did nothing..Ohhhh that was bad. While other times on reserve i flew 69hrs. PSA is really a much much better company then say......oh #$%*$&$#& Airlines. Upgrade may be a while, but as you should know in this industry, is things change fast.
