I am thinking of sending a resume to PSA. I am curious if anyone has heard how the US Air/ America West deal is going to affect the regionals that currently fly for US Air; especially since PSA is still owned by US Air.

Also curious how long upgrade times are and how long you will be on reserve. Is PSA still taking airplanes?

Why would you go to PSA when AWAC is still hiring? We have a far better contract and work rules. All of our bases will be on the east coast.

what is life like at AWAC? I am just trying to figure out what my next move should be since life at skyway doesn't appear to be working out.

what are the bases going to be when you guys start the US AIR flying? 4 year upgrades like PSA? Is airline pilot pay pretty accurate for the pay scale?

There are a lot of unhappy pilots here - but mostly because those of us who live out West are facing a move or a long commute. Life on the line isn't too bad, typical regional stuff. Skeds could be a lot better, but I think a lot of that is a result of the way UAL schedules us (lots of ac overnight in hubs, 1+ hr sits at outstations).

Bases will be PHL and DCA for sure plus 1 or 2 to be announced - PIT, RIC, and ROA have been mentioned.

Upgrade, as usual, is a hard guess. A lot of people are leaving right now (half of whom are FOs), and a lot more will leave with the transition out east. However, we're downsizing from 84 to 70 aircraft with the 146s leaving.

Work rules are still about the best in the regional industry even after the concessions. AP central pay rates are accurate. We filed a greivance to get our old contract back since we're no longer flying for UAL.

If he wanted to find out about Air Wisconsin I think he would have put a "AIR WISCONSIN and America West" link so don't butt in. Im out.

Apparently, according to Aviation Daily the AWA/Us Air merger includes PSA,Piedmont and MDA,although MDA is still "in play" re; the sale to Republic Airways. They plan on "keeping all 57 Dash 8's." Reason,"they are profitable and offer greater flexibility". Great news for all you Piedmont guys and gals out there! :) The statements in quotes are right out of the aviation daily newsletter I saw posted on our ALPA website
