I found it very interesting to see the Premier ranked #1 in customer satisfaction. Gulfstream was #2 and Citation was #3.

I have to admit that I was skeptical but we just did a demo in one and I was very impressed with the aircraft. It was fast, quiet, huge cabin, out climbed our Beechjet, handled well, A/C was fantastic, huge baggage, and the proline 21 was awesome. It has range/weight limitations, but none that will bother our operation. DOC numbers are fantastic. On a round trip to KAPF it burned 800lbs less than our Beechjet. We ordered one.

Quality Products of Canada

Who cares about the leaders. All we really want to know is did Bombardier manage to say in second to last place over Sabre?

What is the order lead time for the Premier 1A nowadays? Do they have ready-to-go Premiers in inventory or do you need to wait a long time to get a new one?

I have seen one up close and that Pro Line 21 system is pretty cool. I found the cabin to be roomy too for 2-3 people.

Ours is a Feb. delivery. One left in March, but selling fast. I saw 4 serial numbers get deposits just in the week we negotiating. That is why we placed our order prior to NBAA. We carried 4 + salesman on the demo. I also went in the back during the flight and found it quite comfortable. The folks that always sit in the back two seats said it was more comfortable than the back two of the Beechjet. The Boss and his wife said that having someone in the "club" section with them was more comfortable than the Beechjet. When I looked back at them from the flight deck they looked much more comfortable.

I enjoyed the extra foot of width in the flight deck and having no yoke between your legs allows for much more comfortable seating. I was shocked that on the return flight home I was able to get .79 out of it at FL 380. FADECS are sweet. Very easy to fly.

you should have order a Learjet 40XR :)

Why would I have paid 2 million more for a aircraft with a much smaller cabin, range I did not need, much higher DOC's and horrible product support? Not to mention no Proline 21.

The whole reason we are trading was for more cabin. The 40's is less impressive than the Beechjet.

I was pulling your chain, due to the title of this thread. I am sure you made a good choice The only weekness I have heard about with that airplane is the brakes.

enjoy!

My Bad. They put hydraulic brakes on it now. They were almost identical to mine on the Beechjet. I also heard the old brakes were horrible.

From what I hear, they are not near as effective as the Lear though.

We did look hard at used 45's but got scared of DOC's without warranty.

Did they offer to throw in the handy dandy 4th window sticker too? Just messin' with ya, although that does crack me up!

It does have a very nice cabin, and it is fast. But as you said it is very limited in useful load and range. Two pilots and full fuel gives you a one pax airplane (175lbs). I've talked to several guys that fly them, and I have heard mixed about it. Some love it, some hate it I guess that is true with any airplane. It just makes you wonder why you can get them so quick.

Unfortunately the dang sticker/painted window cost $600...LOL. It does make it a little less ugly though.
I think some are still skeptical. I had to do a lot of research before I was comfortable. Having 2 friends who are demo pilot's on it helped. They both said 2 years ago they would not have let us buy it. It has to suit your mission. Ours is only 600 miles.

A pilot I know flew a brand new one. They gave it back to the factory recently. It broke all the time. Even had a hydraulic failure (at 50 hours) which is big trouble in that thing if you don't have a very long runway. He flew it single pilot after flying a 400a. He hated it. He said the avionics would just do things at the most inappropriate times, without pilot input, making single pilot even more difficult. He'd explain what happened to the engineers, they would say. yeah we know about that and don't know why it does that. Final opinion from my friend... He'd rather have a Beechjet.

Did your friends get commission checks????? Nice airplane for light loads and less than 700 mile missions.

Just curious if you have looked at resale on those? It is not good.

From the research I did, the only one holding it much better was the Citation series. If you run the numbers based on the known discount level, it is not bad at all. Way better than the Beechjet. Very new lears are doing ok, older ones are horrible. Hawkers Just a few points better than the Premier. We keep our airplanes so low time that we do pretty well in that department. We only fly 100-150 hours per year. The resale value was not worth spending 1.8 million more for a smaller, slower citation. Cost of money will make up most of the difference.

WHAT !!! that is a fake 4th window....NOW that is funny!

Lets put some fake dual main tires next and fake trailing link gear.

ouch!!!! that was nasty, sort of like kicking a man when he is down. You bought an airplane Bro...relax it's not like I'm talking about your women, or man if that is the case ...LOL

No offense taken, just having a little fun as well. We looked hard at used 45's, but that market has gone nuts on post SN# 100 airplanes that are low time.

After 8 years in the Beechjets we were ready to try something new.

Huh, I think I've flown with that guy...hell, I think he's our check airman. Let me guess, he's an old timer who thinks gps is less reliable than vor's, thinks analog gauges make more sense, fadec's are a waste of money, FMS's make people stupid, still files every airway and intersection on flight plans...blah blah blah. :D

Just jokin, but seriously, is he comfortable with new technology? I can't count how many times I've answered the PF's question of "What the hell is it doing?" with "Exactly what you told it to do".
