Its a good deal if you know what your doing...if your not savy try hotwire.com it gives you prices..just not the airline or hotel names. I've found whatever the price on hotwire...bid about 10 percent less on priceline and you'll get it..

Hotwire

Well that site sucks. I got a price of 456 and I went straight to Usairways for the same flight and it was almost 100 cheaper on the Airways site. So that gets a big thumb down. Just FYI.

I have a friend who is a wizard at finding low fares. He says that Orbitz is good.

On a different note, I have had numerous successful transactions with hotels at priceline.com. I always specify four-star and bid $30-$35 and get a nice hotel, like Marriot, Courtyard, etc.

Check out biddingfortravel.com

It is a forum for people that are bidding for stuff on priceline.com
People mention how much they bid and what price they got. I've seen some pretty amazing deals. I saw a guy that got $375 RT LAX-LHR on British Airways.

I have to agree with the above post. I used Priceline for hotels when I would travel to interviews and always stayed in a 3 or 4 star hotel and never paid more than $35.
Sure beat paying $55 to $80 the airline I was interviewing with recommended.
I would often get a rental car from them for $20-$25 and drive myself to the interview and then take a drive around the city. Make sure you know the terms. Such as, once you bid successfully you can't get a refund. If you need to cancel it's too bad.

I haven't used Hotwire yet.
