President/COO of ASA to visit Valdosta

By Jennifer Tanner
The Valdosta Daily Times

— VALDOSTA — Brian LaBrecque, president and chief operating officer for Atlantic Southeast Airlines, is making a trip to Valdosta Wednesday, Dec. 13. He will speak at the Valdosta Rotary Club’s lunch meeting as well as the monthly meeting of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority. He will be joined by other members of the ASA leadership team.
Kate Modolo, director of corporate communications, said LaBrecque’s trip is an example of his desire to reach out to local communities and airport authorities like VLD to talk about ASA’s hub and small-community operations.
“ASA will use this opportunity to outline for Valdosta stakeholders its aggressive steps toward improving performance companywide, and the goals the regional airline is working to reach as a member of both SkyWest Inc. and the Delta Connection program,” Modolo said. “ASA’s leaders are looking forward to meeting with Valdosta’s Rotary club and the VLD airport authority to talk further about ASA’s role in the Valdosta community.” LaBrecque was one of several high-ranking representatives that met with Airport Authority chairman Joe Prater, vice chairman Steve Everett and airport manager Bob Holliway in Atlanta this past September.
The local men were impressed with the promise that LaBrecque possessed as he told them his plans to change and improve ASA service. He explained, though they already knew, that it is Delta that sets prices and schedules, but that he understands how he can affect customer service in Atlanta.
“I’ve flown 10 times in the last three weeks, and I can see a noticeable difference in Concourse C in the Atlanta airport,” Prater said. “The whole mood has changed — customer service is much better.”
It was Prater who initiated LaBrecque’s visit to Valdosta. The president will arrive on a morning flight, travel across the city to speak at the Rotary luncheon, travel back to the airport to speak for the Authority and spend time with the local ASA personnel. Lisa Walker, vice president for airport customer service, and Kate Modolo are expected to join him on the trip.
“We invited him to come visit in conjunction with an Airport Authority meeting so he could see how we fit into the economic development picture,” Prater said.
The Authority will hold its open meeting at 2:30 p.m. at the Valdosta Regional Airport. Look in The Valdosta Daily Times for coverage of this meeting and for information on the Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority.

Next up: LaBreque will eat at Schlotzky's for lunch tomorrow!!

Do ASA people really need to post every little bit of info about their company here? WTFC!!!

Reckon he'll stay at the Shoney's Inn? Y'all still got the Shoneymobile?

This is ASA's way of kissing A$$. Recently VLD airport is trying to get other airlines to fly there due to poor ontime performance.

I hate to say it, but if there was a market to serve VLD there would be other airlines there.

No-Sur, we have a new and much better hotel right next to the Hooters, the only kicker is the taxi we take, he's a great driver but he's got a A/C unit sticking out of the back window. I couldn't make this shi_t up.

The only problem here is that everyone knows the guy will be there so the managers personally take care of his flights. He needs to just get on an aircraft and fly the system unannounced! I cant believe he dosn't know this.

They need to get new service in VLD. We can fill the ramp with one broken ATR and Fubar some other airlines on time performance.

Too bad the crew didn't find a way to cancel the flight due to MX issues. That would have been fun!
