For those of you at the majors, which airlines give their own medical exam before you're hired and what do they consist of? What items hold people up?

I believe the answer is none. The ADA and other right to privacy issues forced a change.

In the old days, if you could pass the AA exam, you could be an astronaut.

Eagle still does a new hire medical... and that's a regional.

Same AMR physical as AA does, I believe.

Medical is day 2 of your interview.

I believe you get a conditional offer "pending" the results of the medical, background checks, and captain's review board.

The ADA rules can help you, but the way I take it, Eagle could deny you by simply saying "you weren't selected by the Captains board" despite having a conditional offer.

I dunno, any Eagle guys wanna chime in?
