Post SWA App details please...

for those of you who already applied via the early release of the SWA app system can you please provide the rest of us some details as to how in depth and what they ask for?

For example:

1. What hour break downs do they want?
2. What is the system for detailing employment history and phone numbers?
3. How does the system for letters of recommendation work if the LOR are from NON-SWA sources? Do you have to enter names / numbers / the letter itself?
4. Do they ask any essay type questions etc.?
5. Will the system allow you to fill out the app leaving some areas incomplete to fill out later? ie. do you have to fill it out all in one sitting?

Any other surprises in how the system works?

Pretty easy and straight forward. They were mostly interested in Turbine/Jet time breakdowns, PIC, SIC, Jet and Turbo-prop. I think they wanted to know what you've been flying for the last 5 yrs?

As far as employment history, they want to know what you've been doing for the last ten years with all gaps explained. If there is a gap, and it wasn't for school, you'll need to list the name of someone who will vouch for you. Standard stuff, address, phone number, why you left. I know two of the places I listed no longer exist, but I'm sure thats common. If you were lucky enough to get a call from the online app, you'd probably need to get someone to confirm you did actually work there?

The LOR thing didn't come up on the app. They did say it would be a requirement if you got called for an interview and It did not specify it had to be a SW employee, just someone who could attest to your character and ability.

No essay stuff or strange questions. Like I said, very standard aviation type app.

Though I did get all the way through it in one sitting, I believe you can stop in the middle, and log back on and finish it. You give yourself a logon name and a password and you can access your stuff at any time. It seems you'd be able to update your info on a daily basis if you wanted. They did say to keep it active, you must update every six months.

Only other stuff you'd want handy is the date and address of all residents you've lived at for the last five years.

I'd give it a look. You'll probably be pleasently suprised how easy it is, especially if you've got your logbook updated and all dates and addresses readily available.
