The airline put financials and schedule protection well ahead of safety in the case. It would have been very easy to divert for multitude of problems that wouldn't have alarmed the suspect, they had already returned to the gate without this guy freaking out. Clearly they put their needs ahead of safety. If the Captain knew and elected to continue, he is an idiot, he knowingly carried an individual that lawenforcement wanted in connection with a murder. Anyone that takes CAL side on this is truely out of touch with reality.

No kidding. They flew 7 hours with sh1t flowing down the aisles from Ireland to EWR a couple of weeks ago. Why turn around when you can keep going and give 500 future travel vouchers which mean jack squat. When the ching ching machine starts rolling, there's little incentive to turn ot off. Look at the BA 747 flight that lost an engine on takeoff in LA and decided to fly to London only to have to divert due to a fuel emergency. $$$$$$$$$ and pilots are only in the way. Don't forget it.

How many of you would have changed your minds on how CAL handled this if that were your sister, aunt, friend, etc. that was found murdered?

This guy may never have to answer to the authorities because he has left the country.

Absolutely true! I fully expect the extradition process to take months (if not even years) from India to get that murderer here.

Btw, even if the airplane had turned back, and the suspect got suspicious, what exactly do you think he'll do?

What can one Indian man (presumably brown-skinned) do on an international flight with 200 people? The second he gets up with any threatening intention will be the second that 50+ people would beat him to pulp. That's the reality of a post-9/11 world.

Did you really expect anything different from CAL? I think its pathetic when they are more concerned with who's going to pay for their fuel than diverting to get a suspected murderer into the proper custody. Selfishness at its finest.

We could also suspect that you are a moron but just because most of us here think it, doesn't mean that you should be removed for the forum just because it's a suspicion. If the FBI was really serious about the guy, maybe they should have prevented him from reaching the airport in the first place. 12 miles offshore and the FBI wants to put the blame soley on CAL. Sounds like the FBI is getting in bed with the TSA. Stupid is as stupid does. Here's an idea..........have the state department notify the Indian government and have him picked up when the plane lands. This crazy idea sort of works pretty good as everybody knows where the plane is going and about what time it will be there. If I remember correctly, most people on this board had a real problem with the Brazilian government keeping our citizens from leaving for their home country until they needed to have their day in court.
