They said the same thing when Atlas Management moved the same Atlas A/C/routes over to Polar when we were in negotiations with the Atlas Pilot Group. You ate it up then and were happy to fly them while we furloughed. I guess the shoe is on the other foot now.belchfire said:I find it amazing that Polar's classics are unprofitable
while Atlas' still are...
furloughfodder said:Good one Cfire. So Polar doesn't have the cojones to strike? What did we just do six months ago? (of course it was cut short after SCAtlas started flying all our freight)
Speaking of cojones, isn't it SCAtlas who chickened out right before going on strike during your last contract cooling off period and just rolled over and accepted the crap contract you now have?![]()
Yeah it sucks, but Atlas is flying over 200 flights a month for Polar (while we furlough).kevdog said:I saw an Atlas 400 ahead of us for take-off out of MIA with a Polar call-sign. What's up with that?
When Polar screwed up the "Alliance Agreement" arbitration, you screwed yourselves and Atlas crews at the same time. They will eventually screw with Atlas crews again at some point like they did in the past. You will probably always see Atlas flying a certain amount of Polar flights under the "Alliance Agreement" so that the company can use it against both of us in negotiations when they want to make a point to one side or the other during negotiations. Thanks guys!furloughfodder said:Yeah it sucks, but Atlas is flying over 200 flights a month for Polar (while we furlough).
Like mar said, it's a shell game.
You went on strike totally unprepared with your MEC asking us to set up your strike center. Bobb H. caved about three days into it to accept the last offer. Cato withdrew the last offer when Bobb caved and added more crew concessions in which Bobb realized his mistake and then you had continued your strike just to get back to what was on the table before the strike. Same money just shifted around within the same package. Of course you won't be able to get Bobb Henderson or Robin Hair to admit it.furloughfodder said:Good one Cfire. Actually, we got shot in the head by our sister company (Polar) whos MEC agreed to our struck work rules and then later (15 minutes before the strike) changed his mind and said they were going to fly our A/C and routes (5 or 6 A/C and the China Airlines customers) if we struck. I guess you should count yourselves lucky not having to decide to willingly fly struck work that your MEC Bob Fell volunteered you for.Speaking of cojones, isn't it SCAtlas who chickened out right before going on strike during your last contract cooling off period and just rolled over and accepted the crap contract you now have?
Thedude said:Which is worse, being furloughed on the spot or finding out and having to wait several months.
kevdog said:Are you serious?
Being furloughed sucks either way, but at least if you have a few months notice you can prepare and set up for other work. $275 a week doesn't pay the bills for very long.Thedude said:yes, I am serious.
I have been furloghed from 3 different employers. Everytime it happened it was prettyy short notice. I have a couple of friends that were furliughed from Delta and they had many months notice and said they started hating going to work knowing that in a matter of weeks they were going to be gone. So, I ask again ...which is worse

Judging on Bobb's character and a few others at Polar, I bet you guys don't have the cajones to pull off a strike that you have been bragging about.
Yeah, calling or insinuating Atlas crews are scabs while ignoring what has been done in your own house is civilized.KeroseneSnorter said:You know this thread was nice and civilized until you showed up to stir the pot. As was almost every other one on here about Polar/Atlas.
No, my name doesn't appear on the list. Funny how that list that was posted internationaly on Pprune matched the same list including the mistakes submitted to ALPA for Article 8 Action. So, at least one person on your council committee is pure scum releasing confidential information that can harm innocent people. You screw with my union brothers/sisters and you are screwing with me.Your name didn't happen to appear in a prominant position on the afore mentioned list did it?
Sure, I'll take your word on that. Just like I take Bob Fell's and Bobb Henderson's word. You know who they are don't you? It seems you are not to aware of what is going on around you. Yes, I have a copy of the original "ScabAnnoucer" along with some other stuff on him and what was submitted to the Hearing Board. Post it -- get real. Not that I would know, being a Polar pilot I have never seen the list that apparantly you keep circulating around at Atlas. Do you have a copy that you could post? Nobody I know on the Polar side has one, not a big interest in the topic over here apparantly.
Funny, I have found it on a couple of different forums frequented by crew types around the world. For someone with sooo many posts, you don't get around much.Edit: Also, this "strike" by Polar that you speak of. Never heard of it. Not saying that somebody didn't pass the idea around in a crew room somewhere...but if they did, it did not go far.
That's funny, I keep getting these reports from crews that are to be submitted to the company for action saying otherwise. I guess I should take your word for it instead of the submitted reports by my fellow pilots. It's been my experience that something is happening more often than what is reported on paper. Crews don't like paperwork. My encounters are usually very brief with "Oh, your Atlas" soon to be followed by a separating of the ways.Strange how most of the dirogatory statements that you claim are coming from polar pilots I only hear about from your posts. I guess I must have been in the bunk on a double crew or taking a whizz in the john at the pub when these discussions happen......Boy, take a whizz and miss all the fun!!![]()

Heard that there was a proffer for about 40% of Air Atlanta. Don't know if that's for the whole or just one of the sub companies holding the Boeing orders.bman said:Anyonw else here the rumors about Air Atlanta and AAWWH??
I talked to an Air Atlanta pilot and they are quite concerned. This seems much more plausable than the rest of the crap floating around out there seeing as they have orders for 777's and 748's that they cannot afford.
Comments?
No more than the Polar pilots did when they got Atlas aircraft/routes and Atlas furloughed.furloughfodder said:...and the Atlas Pilots rejoiced!!!
