Could anybody give me the outcome of this ALPA merger. How did it go? What are the facts right now between the two groups. Looks like they are still seperate and the merger looks kind of like the same disaster it has been between USAIR/AWA. New Union voted in.

Txs

ALPA has prevented this merger at every point thus the push for IBT. The results were be revealed DEC 19th. IF IBT is voted in then negotiations will push forward toward a single CBA and a single list. Anything other than IBT  .

What is the reason for ALPA trying to prevent this merger?

It's not ALPA National but the rank and file membership opposed to the merger.

The company is trying to strip the pilot group off the 121 certificate - you longer work for an airline, but rather a 'leasing company' who provides pilots to that entity.

Kinda like migrant workers standing on a corner hoping for a job - but, no worries, we'll be wearing ties!

You left out the other 3 excuses used from days gone by. If we were merging into Polar, that would be OK right?

No. If we were merging onto one certificate with rights of successorship it would be okay. As it is we will be a crewleasing company just like Parc, HACS, or some of the other companies that supply crewmembers for different entities. No real job protection. Atlas/Polar; I can care less what it is called, what I wear for a uniform or what I fly. I want to be treated fairly, compensated for my skills and experience and given some assurances that I will have a job in the future. Remember this and post again next year. There will come a day soon after this "merger" where work that used to be flown by Atlas/Polar is subbed out to another airline.

A curious and misinformed view, but it worked for the Polar MEC to keep everyone in line.

With the new leadership, information will probably be more forthcoming to you unless the Stockholm syndrome has taken too much root.

I also remember the last 13 years pretty well along with a long documentation trail between the councils and company over the last ten or so.

I've been saying this for years! THERE IS NO MERGER! There never was and there never will be. You Polaroids hang in there. GO POLAR!

Go tell that to the company, IBT and NMB. You can go back to your fantasy world, sonic skipper.

Yeah, I guess I am in a fantasy world, being that after years of BS there is STILL NO MERGER. What reality are you going by???

A long time ago a man got off an airplane, held up a piece of paper and said look this is peace in our time.

You and your kindred did a nice job of getting everyone combined nowhere during that time. Something to be proud of - NOT!

Now you and your old MEC are just watching from the wayside because of that moronic tactic as others have to clean up your mess and make adult decisions for the good of all.

Still no merger cfire....there is still no merger.

If you would like to think so in that little corner of reality you call home. Actions say otherwise to the masses.

Does Polly want a cracker? Come on now Polly, don't you want a cracker? Repeat after the Polar MEC that does not exist anymore "blah ----blah -------blah-------"

Blah...blah...blah.......but there is still no merger. Stop drinking, the Kool Aid vat is empty. You're sucking air now.

For the guys that want to transfer the insurance they lost with ALPA they need to check out the Atlas for Teamsters site to get things moving. It is under the Welcome to 1224 link to start your changeover if you wish.
